Specification

This invention relates to a process for making biomass fuel. Particularly this invention relates to a process for making biomass fuel in the form of pellets and / or briquettes from rice straw, wheat straw, wooden waste, etc.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Nowadays farmers burn rice straw/ wheat straw in their fields which causes many problems, for example, air pollution, dangerous fire, reduced soil fertility. Air pollution is a serious problem in India and other countries also, because of air pollution, respiration disease, for example, Asthma, COVID, heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, continuously increase, and severe in humans and animals also. Some conventional fuel and processes based on rice straw are available but they have a costly and lengthy process that does not stop the farmers from burning the straws in their field.

II. Chipping the plant straws in the storage unit to obtain chips of a size of 3 – 15 mm;
III. Drying the chipped plant straws in the storage unit to obtain a moisture content in the range of 12 – 15 %;
IV. Briquetting / palleting the dried material to make biomass fuel at a temperature of 110 – 130 0C at a combustion force of 1150 – 1250 kg/sq. inch.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
A process for making biomass fuel, according to a preferred embodiment, is herein described and illustrated in the accompanying example.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
A process for making biomass fuel of the present invention is described with numerous specific details so as to provide a complete understanding of the invention. However, these specific details are exemplary details and should not be treated as the limitation to the scope of the invention. Throughout this specification the word “comprise” or variations such as “comprises or comprising”, will be understood to imply the inclusions of a stated element, integer or step, or group of elements, integers or steps, but not the exclusions of any other element, integer or step or group of elements, integers or steps.
A process for making biomass fuel comprises plant straws which are collected from agriculture fields or other sources. The collected plant straws are cleaned at a storage unit. The plant straws are chipped in the storage unit to obtain chips of a size of 3 – 15 mm. The chipped plant straws are dried in the storage unit to obtain a moisture content in the range of 12 – 15 %. The dried materials are Briquetted / palleted to make biomass fuel at a temperature of 110 – 130 0C at a combustion force of 1150 – 1250 kg/sq. inch.
The plant straw, for example, rice straw, wheat straw, corn straw, wooden waste, etc, is collected from farmers or other sources at a storage unit and cleaned for the unwanted dust, soil from the plant straws. After that, the plant straw is sent to the chipping section in the storage unit and chipped with the help of a chipper in 03-15 mm size. Wherein chipping is done with the help of a chipper, for example, simple chipper, Chipper-cum-grinder, Hammer-Mill-Grinder, etc. After the plant straw / materials are chipped, the materials are sent to the drying section in the storage unit. Wherein the materials are dried through at least one process, for example, hot air drying, sun drying, air drying in shade, etc. The materials are dried in the storage unit to obtain a moisture content in the range of 12 – 15 %. The dried materials are sent to the briquette machine/pallets machine to make biomass fuel in the form of briquettes and pallets respectively. Wherein 10-15 mm size of the chipped materials used for the briquetting process and 03-05 mm size of the chipped materials used for the palleting process. The dried materials are briquetted / palleted to make biomass fuel at a temperature of 110 – 130 0C at a combustion force of 1150 – 1250 kg/sq. inch.
