The present invention discloses a process for finding & managing suitable service provider to transport cargo by providing a platform where Shippers (Someone looking to send cargo from one place to another) and Transporter (Someone looking to take cargo from one place to another). This process provides a portal where the Shippers can put their requirements and interested Transporters bid for the job as described by the Shipper.
The present invention particularly provides a real time process wherein a potential transporter can rebid to take part in the bidding process again. A reverse bidding occurs when the price of a consignment to be transported decreases over time. A reverse bidding happens because the prices quoted by a Transporter is visible to other Transporters on the platform, and these other Transporters can quote (bid) and requote (rebid, essentially changing and reducing their original bid) in order to win the job. The current bid price to haul the cargo is open view for other potential transporters. The potential Shipper has the option to accept any bids from the transporter on basis of parameters such as Bid Price, Ratings and Reviews of Transporter, Transit Time, etc. The Transporter can change the bid as many times as they want before the acceptance of the bid from the Shipper.
In order to use the system (portal), user (both Shipper and Transporters) needs to register.
The invention process include two-way real time process. The explanation of the process is as follows.
Shipper Performance
Placing an Enquiry
An enquiry is placed by the shipper. For placing the enquiry the shipper needs to provide information about the shipment, such as type of shipment, transport details etc. After filling the required data, an enquiry is placed. Once the enquiry is placed a shipper may check the status of the enquiry.
Receiving the Bids
Once the enquiry is placed the Transporter gets the notification for an enquiry and transporter can place a bid for the enquiry. Shipper may receive multiple bids from Transporters and even different bids (rebids) from the same Transporter.
Accepting the Bid
Shipper is independent to select any bid on basis of multiple parameters as described above.
Exchange of Contract and Job Description
Once the bid is accepted by the Shipper, Contact details and a Job Document is shared between the Shipper and the selected Transporter.
Transporter performance
Search for the loads
Transporter are automatically notified of the relevant job on the basis of details provided at the time of registration, or can search from jobs available on the portal using multiple and various filters to perform the search. The Transporter, if want can bookmark the search.
Placing a bid and reverse bidding
The Transporter can then bid for the Job and can also change the bid price in order to be more competitive than the other Transporters
Accepting the Bid
Shipper is independent to accept the bid as per their requirement.
Exchange of Contract and Job Description
Once the bid is accepted by the Shipper, Contact details and a Job Document is shared between the Shipper and the selected Transporter.
A reverse bidding happens because the prices quoted by a Transporter is visible to other Transporters on the platform, and these other Transporters can quote (bid) and requote (rebid, essentially changing and reducing their original bid) in order to win the job.
The exchange of contract and job description includes performance requirement, time duration, payment modes etc. Once the job gets performed shippers pays the transporter as per the mutual terms and rating is given to both for future reference.
