A Process For Producing A High Density Boswellia Fraction Enriched In 3 O Acetyl 11 Keto B Boswellic Acid (Akba)
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a fraction containing 3-0-Acetyl-11-Keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA) greater than 30% and with high bulk density from an extract containing a mixture of boswellic acids. The extract is acetylated and oxidized in a single pot and purified by controlled adjustment of pH with KOH in methanol medium without causing hydrolysis and then isolated the product as a high density boswellic acid with enriched in AKBA greater than 30%.
