Abstract: A process for production of consistent “Refuse Derived Fuel”, made from mixture of combustible solid municipal waste, agro waste and metallurgical waste, for cement and allied Industries Present invention relates to a process for production of refused derive fuel from combustible municipal solid waste, agro waste and metallurgical carbon waste. In this process combustible municipal waste such as plastic, Paper, Cardboard, wood, rubber, textile etc are separated from municipal waste and is with compost reject, agro waste. Used tyre, carbon containing metallurgical waste. Further to it all these waste after size reduction are treated in vessel containing water or autoclaved at a temperature of 260-300oC at a pressure of 2 bar to 10 bar for 2 to 3 hours with burnt lime to remove sulphur, phosphorous, alkalies, halogens, Dioxin. The so generated hydro char is granulated having a calorific value 3500-4500 Kcal/kg with ultra low sulphur, Phosphorous, alkalis, Halogens and dioxin .This fuel is consistent and can be used in cement Industries as a substitute to fossil fuel and pet coke. The lechate which contains sulphate, Phosphate, fluoride, chloride of calcium and alkalis can be used as a soil conditioner.
1. A process of production of “Refused Derived Fuel from combustible Municipal solid waste, Compost reject, Agro waste, Plastic waste, carbon waste, plastic waste, used tyre added with burnt lime which is treated at a temperature of 150-300oC at a pressure of 2-10 bar in digester for 2-3 hours with the production of hydro char and granulating so generated powder to generate a clean fuel with a calorific value of 3500-5500 Kcal/Kg.
2. The process as claimed in claim 1, the combustible municipal waste is generated through Mechanical biological treatment comprising of plastic, card board, paper, wood, rubber, textile and other combustible material which is used from 10% to 90% preferably 30-50%.
3. The process as claimed in claim 1, the agro waste comprise of stalk and husk of rice, wheat, corn, Maize, gram, and other agro waste including forest waste which is used from 5% to 85% preferably 10-40%.
4. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the carbon waste are mostly generated from Aluminium Industry and other industry comprising spent anode, spent cathode, Anode bud dust, Anthracite fines, sludge which is used from 1% to 50% preferably 5 to 25%.
5. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein used tyres are used from 1 % to 20% preferably 5 to 15%.
6. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plastic waste are from cooling tower of power plants, crushed bottles and other plastic waste which is used from 2% to 30% preferably 5 to 20%.
7. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein burnt lime is added from 1 % to 10% preferably from 4 to 8%.
8. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the autoclaving temperature is 150 to 300oc preferably from 200 to 300oc, pressure is 2 bar to 15 bar preferably from 5 bar to 10 bar and duration of autoclaving at desired temperature and pressure is 1 to 6 hours preferably from 2 hour to 3 hours.
9. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the so generated hydro char is granulated to a mesh size of 4 mesh to 60 mesh preferably 8 to 30 mesh
10. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the calorific value of the fuel is from 2000 kcal/kg to 6000kcal/kg preferably 3500 kcal/kg to 5500 kcal/Kg
