A Process For Simultaneous Recovery Of Metals And Metal Oxides

Abstract: The present invention provides a process (300) for simultaneous recovery of a metal and metal oxide by electro-winning which can be performed by using an acidic solution containing salts of the two metals to be recovered and by using an insoluble cathode and anode; by optimizing the spacing between the two electrodes in the electro-winning process. The present process (300) has the advantage of no involvement of addition of any chemicals or alkalis to control the pH of the solution. Further, the separation of the deposited metal and metal oxide on the electrode surfaces can be elegantly achieved by the simple mechanical process of scraping from the electrode surface or tapping or vibrating the electrode
