A Process For The Production Of Lactic Acid And Its Polymer

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the preparation of optically pure L-lactic acid from an aqueous solution containing said acid in the form of salt. The optimized medium is developed in order to produce the single product at the end of fermentation. L-lactic acid is having tremendous medical application as it produces pure polymers which are bioabsorbable.
