A Process For The Selective Extraction Of Tin From The Sludge Obtained From Industrial Waste

Abstract: A process for the selective extraction of tin from the sludge obtained from industrial waste comprising: drying the sludge at an ambient temperature and grinding the same into fine powder; subjecting the dried powder to the step of fusion at a temperature range of 300-350oC with a mixture of alkali salts to form alkali stannate and meta stannic acid; decomposing said fused alkali stannate with DM water to form an electrolyte; subjecting said electrolytic to the step of electrolysis in an electrolytic cell; and collecting the tin foil deposited at the cathode of the electrolytic cell.
