The invention relates to a process of depositing Zn-Ni-Cu coating on metalproducts to act as an antibacterial coating, comprising the steps of :-preparing a thermal spray coating in the form of powder mixture; checkingthe sprayability of the coating in a Hall flowmeter; heating the powdermixture in an oven at about 100°C to remove moisture from the mixture;sand blasting the metal products using alumina grits; and thermal spraying ofthe dried coating on the metal products by a high velocity oxy fuel (HVOF)gun by raster scanning process at the rate of 5 cm/sec manually with HVOFgun, wherein the powder mixture essentially consists of a metallic Zincpowder with >90% purity, a metallic Ni-powder with >99.5% purity, andatomized copper powder with >95% purity, wherein the particles of zincpowder having sizes - 325 mesh and that of Ni and in particles is -400 meshwhich are mixed by a vibratory cup mill for about 02 minutes, and whereinthe composition of the powder mixture is in the ratio of 80% Zn, 10% nickel, and 10% copper which exhibits higher corrosion resistance to foul fuel mediaincluding increase in antibacterial characteristics.
