BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Packaging is designed to contain a product so that it is unable to interact with the environment. Packaging must provide the protection, identification, information against the physical damage, loss of content or ingredients and intrusion of unwanted component of the environment such as water vapour, oxygen and light. An important role of pharmaceutical packaging is to transform the formulation into an attractive and marketable product.
Aluminium foil is integrated part of Packaging of Various Products like Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals. It is known facts that there was lot of Counterfeiting in both the segments and there was no way to distinguish between the counterfeits and original. Many times, it was observed that the company who is originally manufacturing the product, failed to identify its own product at first sight.
There are many prior arts related to identification and analysis for the original aluminium foil, however it is costly and time consuming process. Further, there are many types of packaging available made of aluminium.
One of such example is US Patent Application number US 20090152155A disclose a cold formable laminate for blister base parts. This is about a cold-formable laminate (10) made of an aluminum foil (14) which is laminated on both sides with plastics material for producing base parts of blister packagings for products which are sensitive to moisture and oxygen, has a plastics material layer arranged on a first side of the aluminum foil (14), as the outer layer (12), and has a sealing layer (16) arranged on the second side of the aluminum foil (14) made of a film or a coating made of polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC). The laminate is suitable for the production of base parts of blister packagings for products which are sensitive to moisture and oxygen.
However there is a need of a product for packaging in pharmaceuticals which is difficult to copy but easy to identify at first sight. This saves time and cost for the manufacturers. The process of the present invention is the integration of two Security Products. The one is Ink based Security Print and other is Laser based Transparent Holographic images and deposition of this integration on printed Aluminium foil.

It will be clear from this description of the invention that the invention is not limited to these illustrated embodiments but that the invention also includes a variety of modifications and embodiments thereto. Therefore, the present description should be seen as illustrative and not limiting. While the invention is susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, it should be understood, that there is no intention to limit the invention to the specific form disclosed, but, on the contrary, the invention is to cover all modifications, alternative constructions, and equivalents falling within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
As used herein, the singular forms “a”, “an” and “the” designate both the singular and the plural, unless expressly stated to designate the singular only.
The process of the present invention is the integration of two Security Products. The one is Ink based Security Print and other is Laser based Transparent Holographic images and deposition of this integration on printed Aluminium foil.
One embodiment of the present invention is a process of preparing an aluminium foil with security thread which includes the steps of integrating ink based security print, integrating laser based transparent holographic images and deposition of the integration on printed aluminium foil.
Preferred embodiment of the present invention is a process of preparing an aluminium foil with security thread includes the steps of:
• taking the PET as a carrier,
• releasing coating on one side of PET,
• metallization of a thin layer of aluminium at the side of released coating of PET by a metallizer,
• printing guilloche pattern on the metallized side of PET with the layer of aluminium,
• integrating laser based transparent holographic images on the metallized side of PET,
• deposition of the integrated PET on the printed aluminium foil.
The step of integrating laser based transparent holographic images on the metallized side of PET includes printing by solvent based inks on aluminium foil metallized on the PET, coating the aluminium foil by Nitro Cellulose, followed by coating of adhesive at other side of PET.
The step of deposition of the integrated PET on the printed aluminium foil includes mounting security threads on a transfer machine, depositing security threads on the aluminium foil through heat and pressure and removing the PET film.
Now the preferred embodiment of the present invention is explained in best mode in reference to a figure 1.
A. Integrating ink based security print:
1. Taking the polyethylene terephthalate (PET), preferably of 23 micron
The PET of 23 micron is used as carrier and the rest of the material is deposited on an aluminium foil.
2. Releasing coating is done on one side of Pet,
Release coating is important in the process of separation of carrier and other material. Although Release coatings are used very frequently to produce hot stamping films but normally other material consist of single material (or single layer). Here the other material consist of various layers together. The other important aspect of Release coating is that it has to in such a way so other material can sustain high pressure and temperature after the separation. The other material will be deposited on to Aluminium foil and it will be subject to high temperature and pressure during the Blistering Process.

The Release Coating consists of 3 Parts:-
1. Primer Coating: - The water based Primer coating increase the energy of the surface of PET so it increases the bonding for coating, Metallizing and Printing. The resin solution FMII25 is used for this purpose.

2. Wax Coating:- After the Primer coating, the wax coating is done. In this process molten wax is deposited very uniformly over the PET film. To control uniformly the speed of machine and viscosity of the molten wax is very important. Carnauba wax is mixed in hydro carbon solvents to make mixture for coating.

3. Lacquer Coating: - This is very important part of process. As explain earlier that other material will be subject to exposure of heat and pressure during the blistering process so this coating makes sure that other matter sustains on the surface of Aluminium foil and does not faded. So the right combination of solvent and resins are to be mixed. Nitro cellulose to be mixed in Thermo plastic acrylic resins + Buly cellulose for this purpose.
3. Metallization is done on coating side,
Metallization is done by Metallizer. This is the process of adding a thin layer of Aluminium to the surface of PET. In Principle, the process calls for the evaporation of the Aluminium inside a vacuum chamber, after which it condenses on to web of PET as it passed through.

Metallizer: In the present invention, the metallizer used are the conventional metallizer. A vacuum metallizer consists of vacuum chamber which has been evacuated to typically 0005 mbar. Inside the chamber, aluminium wire is fed on to individual resistance heated inter-Metallic evaporators where the aluminium becomes molten and evaporates. The flexible PET surface, supported on a chilled process drum passed over the evaporation source at high speed. The aluminium Vapour condenses on the surface of PET and so creates the layer of aluminium on it.
4. Guilloche pattern are printed on metallized side,
A guilloche is, in short a special line pattern where lines overlap each other, run parallel and thus create a highly complex pattern. These complex patterns are generated with the help of data base and software. The Infinite complex pattern can be generated in multiple colors and shapes. The designs are so complexed that it does not allow to see neither an end nor starting point. An exact recalculation is therefore not possible even for modern softwares to recreate the design. The countries are over the world use different Guilloche patterns on their currency notes.
B. Integrating laser based transparent holographic images
1. Printing on Aluminium foil.
The customized text matter is printed through 8 colours rotogravure printing machine. This is the simple process of printing by solvent based inks.

The Printed metallized PET is used for embossing holographic effects on it. This process is done by embossing machine. This is like Printing but without inks. The Printing Plates are made by Laser technique. Various security patterns like kinetic effect, pure 3D images, micro text, flip flop images, nano texts are created through the help of laser rays, these images are embossed through heat and pressure on the printed Metalized Pet.

2. N.C. coating is done on printed side.
N.C. Coating is done for the protection of printing text as it increases the life of printed text on aluminium foil. The full form of NC is Nitro Cellulose. It is mixture of Nitric acid and sulphuric acid.
3. Adhesive coating,
Now the PET film which is pre-printed, metallized and embossed with Laser effects all at one side is ready to be coated with Adhesive on the other side. The metallized portion is deposited on the aluminium foil so good adhesion is very important. For this purpose, isopropyl alcohol, polymic resins / titanium dioxides are used.

The final PET which are pre-printed, metallized and embossed with Laser effects are now act as security threads.

C. Deposition of the integration on printed aluminium foil.
1. Security threads are mounted on Machine.
Machine: The security threads are mounted on transfer machine. This is the customized roll to roll machine. The Aluminium foil which is a customized foil and Security thread are mounted on these machines. Both goes through the heat and pressure where the security thread (Guilloche pattern and Holographic images) are deposited on the surface of aluminium foil and PET film is taken off. The PET film work as a carrier for the Guilloche and holographic images in the whole process. Now the final product aluminium foil with security is ready.
After, full reel is slitted into small threads ranging from 4 mm to 10 mm. The PET film which is having Guilloche and holographic images can be slitted in to the thread. The width of the thread decided by the customer and depend on the design. Usually the width of the thread is from 4 mm to 10 mm but it can be increased as per the requirement of the customer.
Although the invention has been described with reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. It is therefore contemplated that such modifications can be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the present invention as defined.
