A Process Of Manufacturing Quadroscratch Tamper Evident Security

A process of manufacturing "Quadroscratch Tamper Evident Security Label" comprising of tamper evident thermoplastic film of desired dimensions coated with vacuum deposition of a very thin coat of Aluminum metal, followed by embossing with a reverse image to get a holographic image and then sequentially coating/printing with different layers consisting of printing inks as per customer defined matter and customer defined "Generic" message wherein one of the coating is done with a thermoplastic resin which will not allow adhesive to adhere in the area/portion where it is coated/printed in a predetermined pattern, followed by depositing rubber based pressure sensitive adhesive coated separately in the form of DRY Transfer Adhesive Tape and followed by laminating with a silicone release liner in line with pre-determined design to get the final label/decals with the desired features, shapes and sizes.

A PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING
"QUADROSCRATCH TAMPER EVIDENT SECURITY LABEL"AND THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME.
PRS Solutions Private Limited, a Company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 and having its office at 63, Bombay Samachar Marg, Mumbai - 400 001 Maharashtra State, India, India.
The following specification particularly describes and ascertain the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed

18-3-2004

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
This invention relates to manufacture of "Quadroscratch Tamper Evident Security Label" and the process of manufacturing the same. It consists of thermoplastic film like polyester, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride treated with a special release coat material and then coated with vacuum deposition of a very thin coat of Aluminum metal. The top surface is embossed with a reverse image so as to get a holographic image produced on to it. The film is further treated with thermoplastic resin, which has good affinity to the thermoplastic film but at the same time acts as releasing material with respect to adhesive, a rubber based pressure sensitive adhesive is then coated on to it in the form of dry lamina to make the finished labels. Additional security features can be introduced in the form of custom defined message printed along with third level "Security" feature addition by means of printing with "Ultra Violet readable" ink.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART :
Ordinary Holographic labels are available in the market, which are easy to duplicate. In present art we have added extra feature like the message is readable only after scratching the top Aluminum layer and looking through the window produced. In addition to this these labels will leave behind a predefined destruct pattern providing second level of security to it. As an additional or third level of security can be assigned to these labels by printing with ink which is readable only under "Ultra Violet" light making it difficult for counterfeiters to copy.
INVENTION:
A new concept of combining several security features under one label and making it
"TRUE Tamper Evident" in nature.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Invention provides a major tool to all industries/ selling/marketing any component/ part/assembly/users and manufactures of various measuring instruments such as energy

meters etc. and wants to safeguard their brand or avoid duplication and counterfeiting and thereby protecting their brand image and simultaneously achieve monitory saving by means of stoppage to counterfeiting.
A process of manufacturing new generation tamper evident labels comprising of specially embossed tamper evident film of desired dimension coated with thermoplastic resin on the polyester side. The thermoplastic resin has a characteristic property of not allowing adhesive to adhere in the area in which it is coated in pre decided pattern followed by sequentially printing with customer defined art work and color combination, with or without additional feature such as use of Optically Variable Inks. The substrate is then laminated to rubber based Dry transfer adhesive tape and labels are punched to desired shape. All the above referred coating/printing are carried out by using conventional coating /printing methods and the said methods are carried out on different machines for the sake of using the peculiar features of those machines.
Following are the steps involved in obtaining "Tamper evident labels" which reveals the proof of genuineness only after scratching the top layer.

The tamper evident film is a thermoplastic film made from polymers like polyester, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polystyrene etc. to provide a base for processing and should not react with any material printed or laminated subsequently to it.
The tamper evident film has a special coating of release type of material which is loosely bonded on to the topside of the film and subsequently Metallised from the same side to give a hiding effect to the message printed behind.

The tamper evident film referred above is also embossed with a "Laser etched" reversed image or mirror image of customer defined or pre defined or pre-decided pattern/Logo on the metallised side. This serves as "main security" device to the total construction of the label discussed under this art.
This tamper evident metallised film is further coated on other side with thermoplastic resin with "Star" or such type of predetermined patterns specific to customer, which gives the second level of security feature to the label by leaving behind a destruct pattern by fracturing the adhesive, when peeled from application surface.
Printing inks with known and excellent weathering resistance are used to print as per the custom built design/color scheme required by the user. It may comprise of a single color printing to several colors printing and/or will have an additional layer of "Ultra Violet Ink" which gets activated and reads only under "Ultra Violet" light.
The last important layer is the Rubber based adhesive coated separately in the form of DRY Transfer Adhesive Tape (TAT) and laminated to thermoplastic resin coated side of tamper evident metallised film followed by punching to the desired shape. The suitable release liner to secure the labels comes from this dry TAT.
The said decals are capable of providing security feature primarily in the form of embossed image carrying a pre-decided pattern or custom built logo.
Additional security is provided by the invisible ink printed underneath which glows or is visible only under "Ultra Violet" light.
The whole concept of this "Scratch & Read" decal is that the hidden message is readable only after "Scratching" the label and a part of hidden message getting revealed after scratching and a third level security is provided by the invisible layer of ink which is detectable only under "Ultra Violet" light.

WE CLAIM:
2. A process of manufacturing "Quadroscratch Tamper Evident Security Label" as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the thermoplastic film is made up of polyester, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride.
3. A process of manufacturing "Quadroscratch Tamper Evident Security Label" as claimed in Claims 1 and 2 wherein a coat of thermoplastic resin material be applied as per the requirements/need.
4. A process of manufacturing "Quadroscratch Tamper Evident Security Label" as claimed in Claims 1, 2 and 3 above, by which Quadroscratch Tamper Evident Security Label is obtained.
