Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the field of spandex yarns. In this respect, the present invention
provides a process for creating spandex yarn knot or knot like appearance using an external
thread, to facilitate user friendly experience on shop floor and reduce the fatigue of eyes. The
present invention provides a process which leads to higher productivity and considerably less
10 faults.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In general practice, after producing the spandex, the manufacturer is required to provide an end
15 finding tie/sticker so that person operating the machine can find out the end of spandex on the
spool with ease. However, it is not possible to make a visible knot effectively in Denier (D)
finer than 30 Denier (for e.g., 10, 15, 20, 30 Denier etc.), due to its extra fineness. This is the
problem largely faced by the manufactures/operators in the field of fabric.
20 It is difficult to find out the end of the spandex yarn from a spool before using in next process.
The products of finer denier like 10 Denier, 15 Denier, 20 Denier and 30 Denier are extremely
prone to this due to their inherent fineness and limitation of naked eyes to identify this.
Due to fineness of material, it is not possible to provide a knot which is easily visible to find
25 the end of spandex.
Currently some manufacturers are resorting to practice of making a neck tie like appearance
and paste with small stickers inside the spool to find the end. The process is helpful to some
extent to find out the end of spool however they still need to look for the connecting spandex.
30 Further, the said method is not a very reliable and user friendly system. During transportation,
either spandex end disengages from the sticker or sticker comes out from surface. Accordingly,
there is no advantage to operator.
2
There is a need in the art to develop a process to create a knot or knot like appearance which is
easily visible to naked eyes and will provide the customer to improve its operational
efficiencies. There is a further need in the art to provide a spandex yarn spool with visible
knot/knot like appearance which reduces the possible faults without causing any fatigue to the
5 eyes.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The principal object of the present invention is provide a process to create spandex yarn
10 knot/knot like appearance using an external thread.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a spandex yarn spool having a knot/knot
like appearance.
15 Another object of the present invention is to provide a process to create a knot which is easily
visible to naked eyes and will provide the customer to improve its operational efficiencies. A
further object of the present invention is to reduce the possible faults without causing any
fatigue to the eyes.
20 SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention utilizes an external thread/hard yarn to create a knot/knot like appearance
which is easily visible to the user and help the user to find the end very quickly. Therefore, the
present invention is advantageous as it improves the production efficiency of operator,
25 eliminates possible faults and keeps healthy vision.
In this regard, the present invention provides a process to create spandex yarn knot/knot like
appearance using an external thread. The external thread as utilized in the invention is made up
of coarser hard yarn.
30
The present invention further provides a spandex yarn spool having a knot/knot like appearance
of an external thread.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
3
To further clarify advantages and features of the present invention, a more particular
description of the invention will be rendered by reference to specific embodiments thereof,
which is illustrated in the appended drawings. It is appreciated that these drawings depict only
5 typical embodiments of the invention and are therefore not to be considered limiting of its
scope. The invention will be described and explained with additional specificity and detail with
the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 shows the spandex yarn spool having a knot/knot like appearance of an external thread.
10 The knot is clearly visible in the figure 1.
Figure 2 shows the spandex yarn spool wherein knot/knot like appearance is encircled. The
knot is clearly visible in the figure 2 as well.
15 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In the present invention, the inventors have utilized an external thread to create a knot/knot like
appearance which is easily visible to the user and help the user to find the end very quickly.
The inventors have surprisingly found that the present invention improvesthe user’s production
20 efficiency, eliminate possible faults and keep healthy vision.
The present invention provides a process to create spandex yarn knot/knot like appearance,
comprising steps of:
(i) Winding the spandex yarn on a spool;
25 (ii) Attaching an external thread on the loose end of spandex yarn;
(iii) Making a knot/knot like appearance using the external thread.
In the present invention, the inventors have utilized an external thread (coarser hard yarn, which
could be of any material made up of any other natural or synthetic fibre or filament) to create
30 a knot/knot like appearance which is easily visible to the user and helps the user to find the end
very quickly.
4
The present invention is advantageous as this kind of knot has negligible chances of losing of
its characteristic/appearance during transportation and hence improving their production
efficiency, eliminate faults without causing fatigue to eyes.
5 Definitions
Unless defined otherwise, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the meaning
commonly understood by a person skilled in the art to which this invention belongs.
10 As used herein, the following terms have the meanings ascribed to them below, unless specified
otherwise.
As used herein, the verb “to comprise” and its conjugations “comprises” or “comprising” are
used in their non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items
15 not specifically mentioned are not excluded.
In addition, reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” or “an”
does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context
clearly requires that there be one and only one of the elements. The indefinite article “a” or
20 “an” thus usually means “at least one”.
The term “about” with a numerical value includes ± 1 from said numerical value.
The term “denier” denotes a unit of measurement used to determine the fiber thickness of
25 individual threads or filaments used in the creation of textiles and fabrics.
The present invention relates to a process to create spandex yarn knot/knot like appearance,
comprising steps of:
(i) Winding the spandex yarn on a spool;
30 (ii) Attaching an external thread on the loose end of spandex yarn;
(iii) Making a knot/knot like appearance using the external thread.
In an embodiment, the fineness of material of spandex yarn is less than or equal to 30 Denier.
5
In an another embodiment, the fineness of material of spandex yarn is in the range of about 10-
30 Denier.
In an another embodiment, the external thread is made up of coarser hard yarn.
