Specification

Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The present subject matter relates to a vehicle, more particularly, an integrated rear fender of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[002] In general, conventional vehicles are propelled through a power unit such as an internal combustion engine or an electric motor. The conventional vehicles also include a plurality of cover assembly to cover one or more vehicle parts and to prevent damage of the vehicle parts.
[003] The conventional vehicle include a pillion handle being mounted to a portion of a frame assembly and is disposed below a portion of a seat assembly. A tail lamp is mounted below the pillion handle to a portion of the frame assembly in a tail lamp mounting bracket.
[004] However, mounting of each of the pillion handle and the tail lamp on separate mounting brackets increases the overall part count and weight of the vehicle. In order to overcome this problem, an integrated mounting bracket for mounting one or more vehicle parts in known and developed in the art.
[005] In the conventional integrated fenders known in the art, a rear fender in integrated with one or more cut outs or grooves to accommodate the tail lamp. However, the rear fender is mounted to a portion of the frame assembly of the vehicle using one or more fasteners.
[006] Further in the above configuration, there are gaps and misalignment of the fender on the vehicle during assembly of the vehicle. Further, there is difficulty in painting the integrated parts due to irregularity in the machining process.
[007] Furthermore, an integrated fender known in the art is disposed below a pillion handle and a tail cover of the vehicle terminates at a pillion seat assembly of the vehicle. In such a configuration, a separate mounting bracket or an intermediary mounting bracket is required to connect the rear fender and the tail cover. Hence, this configuration increases the overall part count of the vehicle and also creates more gaps between the vehicle parts during assembly of the vehicle.
[008] Thus, the conventional configuration of the integrated fender does not cover or connect a tail cover of the vehicle and also the integrated fender requires additional assembly processes to assemble the integrated fender on the vehicle.
SUMMARY
[009] The present subject matter provides a vehicle comprising an integrated rear fender. The integrated rear fender comprising a hood portion and the hood portion is configured to connect and cover a rear portion of a pair of tail covers of the vehicle and the pair of tail covers being mounted on a pair of rear frame members of the vehicle.
[010] As per an aspect of the present invention, a vehicle comprising a frame assembly, a pair of tail covers and an integrated rear fender. The frame assembly including a pair of rear frame members. The pair of tail covers covering the pair of rear frame members. The integrated rear fender comprising a hood portion and the hood portion covering a rear portion of the pair of tail covers.
[011] As per an embodiment, the hood portion extending rearwardly downwardly from the rear portion of the pair of tail covers. The hood portion is mounted on a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is mounted on a cross member of the pair of rear frame members of the frame assembly.
[012] As per another embodiment, the hood portion is disposed at an end portion and between the pair of tail covers. The pair of tail covers extending up to an end portion of the pair of rear frame members.
[013] As per another embodiment, the integrated rear fender including a tail cover centre, a tail lamp mounting bracket for accommodating a tail lamp, a provision for accommodating one or more rear turn signal lamps, and a rear fender for covering a rear wheel of the vehicle. The hood portion is configured to extend downwardly to the tail cover centre and the hood portion is integrated with the tail cover centre.
[014] As per another embodiment, the tail cover centre is configured to have a depression for providing strength and rigidity. The tail lamp mounting bracket being configured to extend downwardly from the tail cover centre. The tail lamp mounting bracket being configured to have the one or more provisions on each of a left side and a right side of the tail lamp mounting bracket for mounting the one or more turn signal lamps. The rear fender comprising a groove and the groove having mounting provisions for mounting a license plate of the vehicle.
[015] It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description are exemplary and explanatory only and are not restrictive of the invention, as claimed.
