, Description:A REHABILITATION KIT AND A METHOD FOR ASSISTING PATIENTS DIAGNOSED WITH NEUROLOGICAL DISEASE
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[01] The present disclosure relates to a medical kit provided to assist patients. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a rehabilitation kit and a method for assisting patients fully or partially bed ridden or diagnosed with neurological diseases.
BACKGROUND
[02] Neurological disorders are diseases of brain, spine and nerves that connect them. It is estimated that approximately 600 diseases are related to nervous system. As known, people as they age gets diagnosed with several neurological disorders such as Alzheimer, Dementia, Parkinson's and Stroke and so on. Further, due to other problems, people may become partially or fully bed sore.
[03] It is generally known that the patients who are fully or partially bed ridden or diagnosed with neurological diseases are treated for their diseases in hospitals. After leaving the hospital, the patients need continuous care. In order to take care of the needs of the patient, caretakers such as a family member, a nurse, or a professional are needed. Typically, when the patients leave the hospitals after the diagnosis, the patients are often given written or verbal instructions which generally require the caretakers to buy materials or components to aid in patients’ rehabilitation process.
[04] The components required to aid the patients are not easily available. Further, the caretakers are not aware of how to use the components. In order to gain knowledge on taking care of the patient, the caretaker may have to rely on sources such as internet, medical practitioners and so on. Due to the paucity of time, complexity, and discomfort involved in getting the components, the caretakers often do not comply with their doctor's orders. As a consequence, the rehabilitation process for the patient is hampered.
[05] Currently, there are no rehabilitation kits for the patients suffering from neurological diseases such as Alzheimer, Dementia, Parkinson’s and Stroke and therapeutic kit for full or partially bed ridden patients such that the caretakers are able to take care of the patients.

The rehabilitation kit further comprises a plurality of cleaning apparatus to clean the patient and a plurality of handbooks. The at least one protective cloth, the at least one pill box, the plurality of assistive apparatus, the plurality of cleaning apparatus, and the plurality of handbooks are placed substantially parallel to each other. In other words, the rehabilitation kit comprises various articles or components to be used by caretakers of the patients diagnosed with neurological diseases. The various embodiments of the rehabilitation kit for assisting patients diagnosed with neurological disease are explained in detail in conjunction with the description of FIGS 1 to 3.
[18] Referring to FIG. 1, a rehabilitation kit 10 for assisting patients diagnosed with neurological disease is shown, in accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure. The rehabilitation kit 10 may be made up of polythene or cotton or metal and may withstand weight of components present in the rehabilitation kit 10. In one example, the neurological disease may include but limited to Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinsons, and stroke rehabilitation. As known, each of the neurological disease mentioned above requires different treatment or surgery. Upon completion of the surgery, the patient have to be taken care by a caretaker, for example, a nurse, a trained professional, a family member and so on. In order to take care of the patient by the caretaker, the rehabilitation kit 100 is provided such that the caretaker is equipped and instructed on how to use the rehabilitation kit 10 to help the patient.
[19] The rehabilitation kit 10 comprises at least one protective cloth 12, at least one pill box 14, a plurality of assistive apparatus 16, a plurality of cleaning apparatus 18, and a plurality of handbooks 20. Each of the at least one protective cloth 12, the at least one pill box 14, the plurality of assistive apparatus 16, the plurality of cleaning apparatus 18, and the plurality of handbooks 20 are placed substantially parallel to each other in the rehabilitation kit 10. However, it should be understood the at least two or all of the protective cloth 12, the at least one pill box 14, the plurality of assistive apparatus 16, the plurality of cleaning apparatus 18, and the plurality of handbooks 20 may also be placed substantially perpendicular to each other and such placement is within the scope of the present disclosure. Each of the protective cloth 12, the at least one pill box 14, the plurality of assistive apparatus 16, the plurality of cleaning apparatus 18, and the plurality of handbooks 20 are spatially placed in the rehabilitation kit 10 such that the caretaker can identify and access the components easily.
[20] In one example, each of the at least one protective cloth 12, the at least one pill box 14, the plurality of assistive apparatus 16, the plurality of cleaning apparatus 18, and the plurality of handbooks 20 are secured in rehabilitation kit 10 with the help of straps or belts (not shown). In another example, the rehabilitation kit 10 may be provided with pouches i.e., pocket-like structure to place each of the at least one protective cloth 12, the at least one pill box 14, the plurality of assistive apparatus 16, the plurality of cleaning apparatus 18, and the plurality of handbooks 20.
