TITLE: A REINFORCED SOIL TYPE APPROACH EMBANKMENT OF A CROSSOVER STRUCTURE AND A METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME.A reinforced soil type appraoch embarkment of a crossover structure and a method of making the same. The said reinforced soil type approach embankment of a crossover structure such as bridge, cross drainage or flyover comprises a pair of spaced facia which is formed at each of the sides of the embankment by stacking discrete elements in rows one above another in a staggered manner. A soil mass is filled in the space between the facia. The soil mass comprises an unstable zone of soil at each of the sides of the embankment formed by a plurality of layers of compartmentalised reinforced soil mass units. Each layer comprises a horizontal separator cum reinforcement member of low strengfth geosynthetics connected to the respective discrete elements and defining compartments filled with soild under compaction. The compartments in the bottom to top layers are progressively reduced and the top layer is covered with a horizontal reinforcement element of low strength geosynthetics. The soil mass further comprises a stable zone of soil filled at the center filled under compaction.
