Specification

The present disclosure described herein, in general, relates to a reinforcement structure attached on a bottom side of a vehicle body. In particular, the present disclosure relates to the reinforcement structure that is attached at a joining region, of a rear floor and a back panel, at an underbody of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Nowadays, in compressed natural gas, CNG, based vehicles, spare tire is placed vertically in a boot space provided at a rear side of a vehicle. Generally, the spare tire is placed vertically inside the frame adjoining to a CNG cylinder mounting frame and is clamped with the help of a belt. The holding of the said spare tire frame is generally provided on a rear floor.
[0003] In some cases, due to layout constraints, one of rear end connections of the spare tire frame can be bolted on a bracket that is spot welded on a back panel of the vehicle. In such cases or arrangements, during motion, loads are transferred from the spare tire frame to a joint between the rear floor and a back panel region via the bracket. Due to these, a part of vertical component load will act which may cause local bending in a region where the rear floor panel is spot welded with the back panel. Hence, there is a need of modifying that local region that may reduce the bending and increases the stiffness of the region on the rear floor panel.
[0004] But, the rear floor panel has certain restrictions while increasing its stiffness in the local region. Since, the rear floor panel being common for a number of similar designed vehicles, it is preferable not to make any

changes in the rear floor design due to economic reasons. Further, the rear floor panel also has an additional constraint for a new spot weld in the local region due to design constraint of the rear floor. Due to the mentioned constraints, there is a need for a new counter-measure to reduce deformation at the local bend region while overcoming the above mentioned challenges.
[0005] Some of the prior arts tried to overcome this problem but fails to do it efficiently.
[0006] It is therefore required to provide a solution that can reduce the bending that are observed at the region of the rear floor panel due to the connection of the spare tire frame with the back panel.
OBJECTS OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0007] Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one for embodiment herein satisfy, are listed herein below.
[0008] It is a primary object of the present disclosure to provide a reinforcement structure that reduces the deformation in the bending region of a rear floor panel.
[0009] It is a general object of the present disclosure to provide the reinforcement structure that increases the stiffness of the bending region of the rear floor panel.
[0010] It is another object of the present disclosure to provide the reinforcement structure that improves the performance of the bending region of the rear floor panel under existing loads or to increase the strength to carry additional loads.
[0011] It is another object of the present disclosure to provide the reinforcement structure that increases the toughness and resistance of the bending region of the rear floor panel.

[0012] It is further another object of the present disclosure to provide the reinforcement structure that gives better performance and reliability.
[0013] These and other objects and advantages will become more apparent when reference is made to the following description and accompanying drawing.

[0040] FIG.1 illustrates a rear end connection of a spare tire frame 106 that is bolted on a bracket 108 which is spot welded on a back panel 104 of a vehicle 100 in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. Due to this spare tire frame 106, loads are transferred through this joining region 110 that is spot welded between a rear floor panel 102 and the back panel 104 during vehicle running condition.
[0041] In order to overcome the bending induced in the joining region 110 between the rear floor panel 102 and the back panel 104 of the vehicle 100, a reinforcement bracket 200 is mounted at a position shown in FIG. 2. As shown in FIG. 3, a reinforcement bracket 200 connects an underbody rear floor panel 102 and the back panel 104 of the vehicle 100 on underside of the joinery region 110.
[0042] FIG. 3 depicts a configuration of the reinforcement structure 200 in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The reinforcement structure 200 includes, at a left side, a rectangular-shaped emboss 202 formed with a hole 202-C at its centre. The reinforcement structure 200 further includes a triangular-shaped emboss 204, in addition to a pentagon-shaped emboss 206 formed at a right side of the reinforcement structure 200. The triangular-shaped emboss 204 is formed above the pentagon-shaped emboss 206. In between the triangular-shaped emboss 204 and the pentagon-shaped emboss 206, a triangular shaped bead 208 is formed. The triangular shaped bead 208 increases

the stiffness of the reinforcement structure 200 and also reduces the bending at the joinery region 110.
[0043] Yet further, as shown in FIG.4, an inverted C-shaped flange 212 is also formed that connects a first end 202-F of the rectangular-shaped emboss 202 and a last end 206-L of the pentagon-shaped emboss 206. In an aspect, a set of spot welds 212-S1, 212-S2 is provided at the extreme ends of the inverted C-shaped flange, a spot weld 204-S is provided on the triangular-shaped emboss 204, and a set of spot welds 206-S1, 206-S2 is provided on the pentagon-shaped emboss 206. The triangular shaped bead 208 formed in between the triangular-shaped emboss 204 and the pentagon-shaped emboss 206 increases the strength of the reinforcement structure 200 and reduces bending at the joinery location 110.
[0044] Additionally, the connection between the underbody rear floor panel 102 and the back panel 104 through the reinforcement structure 200 is depicted through the FIG. 4 in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The hole 202-C that is formed on the centre of the rectangular-shaped emboss 202 incorporates the emboss 104-E1 formed on the back panel 104 of the vehicle 100. This hole 202-C helps in easy weld gun accessibility. In addition, the lower side 206-L of the pentagon-shaped emboss 206 that is in the form of inverted U-shape incorporates another emboss 104-E2 formed on the back panel 104 of the vehicle. Moreover, the set of spot welds 212- S1, 212-S2 formed on the extreme ends of the inverted C-shaped flange 212 are used for building up a rigid connection between the reinforcement structure 200 and the rear floor panel 102.
[0045] Furthermore, a spot weld 204-S formed on the triangular-shaped emboss 204 and a set of spot weld 206-S1, 206-S2 provided on the pentagon-shaped emboss 206, are used for building up a rigid connection between the reinforcement structure 200 and the back panel

104. In this manner, the bracket structure 200 is mounted at a connecting point between an underbody rear floor 102 and back panel 104 of a vehicle.
[0046] Thus, with the proposed reinforcement structure and the mounting of the same at the connection point between an underbody rear floor and back panel of a vehicle, as described in the present disclosure, various technical problems of the state of the art have been solved without deviating from the scope of the subject matter of the present disclosure.
TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES
[0047] The present disclosure provides a reinforcement structure that reduces the stress induced in the bending region of the rear floor panel.
[0048] The present disclosure provides the reinforcement structure that increases the stiffness of the bending region of the rear floor panel.
[0049] The present disclosure provides the reinforcement structure that improves the performance of the bending region of the rear floor panel under existing loads or to increase the strength to carry additional loads.
[0050] The present disclosure provides the reinforcement structure that increases the toughness and resistance of the bending region of the rear floor panel.
[0051] The present disclosure provides the reinforcement structure that gives better performance and reliability.
[0052] These and other objects and advantages will become more apparent when reference is made to the following description and accompanying drawing.

Equivalents
[0053] Further, it will be appreciated that those skilled in the art will be able to devise various arrangements that, although not explicitly described or shown herein, embody the principles of the invention and are included within its scope.
