A Release Device For A Clutch And A Clutch Therefor
The invention relates to a release device (30) for a clutch (10), comprising: a release sleeve (40) slideably disposed on a drive shaft (18), said release sleeve (40) having an axis of rotation (45), a first end (50) and a second end (60); a lever engagement portion (55) disposed at the first end (50) of said release sleeve (40)for contact with a release lever (35); a bearing (70) disposed about the axis of rotation (45) having an inner race (72) and an outer race (74); a bearing housing portion (65) disposed at the second end (60) of said release sleeve (40) for receiving said bearing (70), said bearing housing portion (65) having a shoulder (67) for locating said bearing (70) therein; a retainer (78) is disposed at said bearing housing portion (65), said retainer (78) securing said bearing (70) within the bearing housing (65) by limiting the axial travel of said bearing (70) relative to said release sleeve (40) when said outer race (74) of said bearing (70) is disposed between said shoulder (67) of said bearing housing portion (65) and said retainer (70).
