Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and more particularly to a remote control that provides unique features of allowing one or more users to select one or more favourite printed over-the-top (OTT) key caps and place the one or more favourite printed OTT key caps and on one or more available hot key slots.

[0001] The embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to a remote control system, and more particularly, to enhanced features of the remote control system.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The following description of related art is intended to provide background information pertaining to the field of the disclosure. This section may include certain aspects of the art that may be related to various features of the present disclosure. However, it should be appreciated that this section be used only to enhance the understanding of the reader with respect to the present disclosure, and not as admissions of prior art.
[0003] Conventional remote controls are provided with printed hot keys for any popular OTT applications for a user to select from the numerous channels available. However, the user has no flexibility to select and place/configure his/her favourite OTT application hot key on the Remote Control. The flexibility of placement and configuration is not available in any contemporary remote-control device.
[0004] Therefore, there is a need for a system wherein a plurality of hot keys in a remote control that can be easily self-configured by the user multiple times.
OBJECTS OF THE PRESENT DISCLOSURE
[0005] Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one embodiment herein satisfies are as listed herein below.
[0006] It is an object of the present disclosure to provide flexibility for a user to select and place/configure his/her favourite OTT application hot key on the Remote Control.
[0007] It is an object of the present disclosure to provide for a system that can facilitate easy removal and self-configuration of the hot keys by the user multiple times.
SUMMARY

[0009] In an aspect, the present disclosure provides for a remote-control system with enhanced features. The system may include a base platform configured with a plurality of receiving structures (slots) to accommodate a unique set of keys and a processor integrated inside the base platform. The unique set of keys may be electrically coupled to the processor and each unique key may be associated with a respective predefined channel. The processor may be wirelessly coupled to one or more computing devices or a set top box and further coupled with a memory that stores instructions which when executed by the processor may cause the system to receive, a unique electrical signal from a unique key, whenever the unique key is pressed by the user and direct, the unique electrical signal to the predefined channel associated with the unique key such that one or more users directly accesses the predefined channel provided by the computing device or the set top box. Each said unique key may be configured to be easily fixed or removed from the respective receiving structure by the user.
[0010] In an embodiment, apart from the unique set of keys, the base platform may include a plurality of keys electrically coupled to the processor for association with respective channels and functionalities.

[0012] In an embodiment, the unique set of keys may be provided with removable over-the top (OTT) Logo inscribed on the unique set of keys that highlights the predefined channel associated with each said unique key.

As illustrated, the remote-control system (100) may be associated with a computing device (104) of an entity (116) or may be associated with a set top box (114) of the entity. With reference to FIG. 1, FIGs. 2A and 2B illustrates an exemplary representation of a remote control (200). The remote control may include a base platform (202) upon which a plurality of keys (204) can be accommodated. The plurality of keys (204) may be electrically coupled to a processing unit for association with respective channels and functionalities. In an exemplary embodiment, the plurality of keys (204) may include a unique set of keys (208) (also referred to as hot keys herein) that can be dedicated hot keys for a predefined OTT platforms such that one or more users can directly access one or more functionalities associated with the computing device (104) or the Set Top Box (114) through the plurality of keys provided in the remote-control system (100). In an exemplary embodiment, the users (102) can include babies, kids, young adults, parents, and the like.
[0026] In an exemplary embodiment, the unique set of keys (208) can be mechanical structures to be fixed on the base platform (202). The base platform (202) may include a plurality of receiving structures (206) or a unique set of slots (206) to receive the unique set of keys (208). Additionally, the receiving structures (206) can be configured to easily fix or remove the unique set of keys (208) by the user (102).

In an exemplary embodiment, the network 104 can be anHC-05 Bluetooth module which is an easy to use Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Protocol) module, designed for transparent wireless serial connection setup.

,CLAIMS:1. A remote-control system (110) with enhanced features, said system (110) comprising:
a base platform (202), wherein said base platform is configured with a plurality of receiving structures (slots) (208) to accommodate a unique set of keys (208);
a processor, said processor integrated inside the base platform (202), wherein the unique set of keys (208) is electrically coupled to the processor (202), wherein each said unique key is associated with a respective predefined channel, and wherein the processor is wirelessly coupled to one or more computing devices (104) or a set top box (114), and
wherein the processor is further coupled with a memory, wherein said memory stores instructions which when executed by the processor causes the system (110) to:
receive, a unique electrical signal from a unique key (208), whenever the unique key (208) is pressed by the user;
direct, the unique electrical signal to the predefined channel associated with the unique key such that one or more users directly accesses the predefined channel provided by the computing device (104) or the set top box (114), wherein each said unique key is configured to be easily fixed or removed from the respective receiving structure by the user.
2. The remote-control system as claimed in claim 1, wherein apart from the unique set of keys (208), the base platform comprises a plurality of keys (204) electrically coupled to the processor for association with respective channels and functionalities.
3. The remote-control system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the unique set of keys (208) are removable mechanical structures.
4. The remote-control system as claimed in claim 3, wherein the unique set of keys (208) are provided with removable over-the top (OTT) Logo inscribed on the unique set of keys that highlights the predefined channel associated with each said unique key.

The remote-control system as claimed in claim 3, the unique set of keys (208) and the plurality of receiving structures (206) associated with the unique set of keys are configured with a predefined tensile strength to withstand multiple instances of insertions and removals without having the need to use external tools/assistance.
6. The remote-control system as claimed in claim 1, wherein a set of instructions are associated with each set of unique keys to ensure that a correct key is placed on the base platform.
7. The remote-control system as claimed in claim 6, wherein the set of instructions is associated with a set top box firmware that provides on screen instructions to map each said unique key (208) with a respective action.
8. The remote-control system as claimed in claim 6, wherein the processor is configured to receive a second set of instructions from the user such that a unique key is mapped to a different predefined channel based on the user selection.
9. A remote-control device (200) with enhanced features, said device (200) comprising:
a base platform (202), wherein said base platform is configured with a plurality of receiving structures (slots) (206) to accommodate a unique set of keys (208);
a processor, said processor integrated inside the base platform, wherein the unique set of keys (208) is electrically coupled to the processor, wherein each said unique key is associated with a respective predefined channel, and wherein the processor is wirelessly coupled to one or more computing devices (104) or a set top box (114), and wherein the processor is further coupled with a memory, wherein said memory stores instructions which when executed by the processor causes the device to:
receive, a unique electrical signal from a unique key, whenever the unique key is pressed by the user;
direct, the unique electrical signal to the predefined channel associated with the unique key such that one or more users directly accesses the predefined channel provided by the computing device (104) or the set top box (114), wherein each said unique key is configured to be easily fixed or removed from the respective receiving structure by the user.
10. The remote control device as claimed in claim 9, wherein apart from the unique set of keys, the base platform comprises a plurality of keys electrically coupled to the processor for association with respective channels and functionalities.
11. The remote control device as claimed in claim 9, wherein the unique set of keys are removable mechanical structures.
12. The remote control device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the unique set of keys are provided with removable OTT Logo inscribed on the unique set of keys that highlights the predefined channel associated with each said unique key.

The remote control device as claimed in claim 11, the unique set of keys and the plurality of receiving structures associated with the unique set of keys are configured with a predefined tensile strength to withstand multiple instances of insertions and removals without having the need to use external tools/assistance.
14. The remote control device as claimed in claim 11, wherein a set of instructions are associated with each set of unique keys to ensure that a correct key is placed on the remote control.
