-a pressure sensor (220) for detecting a return pressure within said fuel pump (205), wherein said return pressure detection system (200) maintains said return pressure below a control pressure;
- a fuel tank (210), said fuel tank (210) supplying fuel to said fuel pump (205);
- a return pipe (225), said return pipe (225) accommodating said pressure sensor (220), a first end (225a) of said return pipe connected to said fuel pump (205) and a second end (225b) of said return pipe (225) connected to said fuel tank(210);and
- a control module (215) in signal communication with said pressure sensor (220).
2. A method for detecting a return pressure of a fuel pump (205) of a fuel injection system (100), said method comprising:
-detecting a return pressure within said fuel pump (205) by a pressure sensor (220);
- monitoring the pressure sensor (220) by a control module (215), wherein said control module (215) is in signal communication with said pressure sensor (220);
- determining if said return pressure is above a control pressure by said control module (215);
- generating an error code by said control module (215), if said return pressure is above said control pressure.
, Description:Complete Specification:

The following specification describes and ascertains the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
Field of the invention
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a return pressure detection system for detecting return pressure in fuel pump of a fuel injection system and a method for detecting return pressure of fuel in a fuel pump of a fuel injection system.
Background of the invention
[0002] In the operation of a diesel engine it is known that substantially more fuel is conveyed by the fuel supply pump than is supplied by the injection pump into the engine for use in combustion. There is also a higher pressure in the backflow circuit of high pressure pump.
[0003] The problem is shaft sealing ring failure (flippage in case of bruss shaft sealing ring or displacement in case of helix shaft sealing ring). The main cause for the above failures are higher pressure in the backflow circuit of high pressure pump than the set limits which might be caused by blockage of high pressure pump backflow circuit, kink in the high pressure pump backflow pipe, as well as closed non-return valve in the backflow circuit
[0004] Therefore, if there is any kink present in pump return pressure layout then it leads to increase the back pressure greater than set limits. This will create peaks in the backflow leading to shaft sealing ring displacement or flippage.
[0005] Therefore, it has been attempted to conduct the detection of the return pressure of the fuel through a return pressure detection system.

Brief description of the accompanying drawings
[0006] An embodiment of the disclosure is described with reference to the following accompanying drawings,
[0007] Figure 1 illustrates a view of the fuel injection system in accordance with an embodiment of our invention.
Detailed description of the drawings
[0008] Figure 1 illustrates a fuel injection system (100) with one embodiment of our invention (200). The fuel injection system (100) comprises among other things at least a fuel tank (210), for the storage and flow of pressurized fuel, a fuel pump (205) for pumping fuel out of the fuel tank (210), and a return pipe (225) connecting said fuel tank (210) and said fuel pump (205).
[0009] Figure 1 also illustrates a view of the fuel injection system (100) with one embodiment of our invention (200). In this embodiment, the return pipe (225) consists of a pressure sensor (220). The pressure sensor (220) constantly monitors the return pressure of the fuel in the fuel pump (205).
[0010] The pressure sensor (220) communicates with the control module (215) of the fuel injection system (100) via signal communication. The control module (215) contains predetermined threshold of return pressure of fuel, known as control pressure, fed into it. When the pressure of the fuel in the fuel pump (205) goes above said control pressure, the control module (215) generates an error code.
[0011] The error code generated by control module (215) asks to check the backflow circuit of the fuel injection system (100).
[0012] With this, the blockage issue that is critical for pump will be addressed, and it will eliminate the shaft sealing ring flippage or displacement. This will in turn lead to no field complaints, greater customer satisfaction, faster diagnosis of the root cause for failure and of course pro-active approach to avoid failure
[0013] It must be understood that the embodiments explained in the above detailed description are only illustrative and do not limit the scope of this invention. Any modification to the fuel injection system (100) are envisaged and form a part of this invention. The scope of this invention is limited only by the claims.
