A Rotating Arrangement Of Edge Wound Fabricated Field Coil Of Rotor Poles For Electrical Machines

Abstract: The invention relates to described herein is an arrangement (100) and a method of edge wound fabricated field coil of rotor poles for rotating salient pole electrical machines comprises a field coil assembly (20) having at least one half turn field coil assembly (12), at least one modified half turn field coil assembly (14, 22, 24) arranged on a periphery of the rotor and configured by bending a straight length of profiled copper strip. The half turn field coil assembly (12) is rotated 1800 to fasten said male dove-tail punch (16) and said female dove-tail punch (18). Bending process is repeated to form a plurality turns of the field coil assembly (20) and inter turn insulation is used between the plurality turns of the field coil assembly (20) to facilitate accommodation of lead connections (26, 28). Final consolidation of the field coil assembly (20) forms a monolithic piece for rotating to rotate the salient pole electrical machines.
