THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED
FIELD
FIELD OF THE SUBJECT MATTER
[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of pulp and paper technology and more particularly to a screen basket for pulp and paper industry.
BACKGROUND
[0002] In the existing stock preparation process, the plurality of screen baskets is used in various locations or parts of said pulp preparation process in accordance with the application in order to perform the intended operation for screening the pulp from the slurry. Wherein there are major types of screen baskets used conventionally which include but not limited to the wire type, hole type, and slot types of screen baskets. Further, in the case of said wire type of screen basket the plurality of wires configured adjacent to each other vertically at a specific distance with a gap between at least two wires in order to perform said screening operation between said gap of said wires, wherein said wires are designed in a manner to perform the screening of slurry in forward rotation of a rotor and cleaning automatically happens after the rotation of said rotator against the oppositely configured wires in order to perform the cleaning of said gap between said wires. Whereas in the case of said hole type or slotted screen basket with the plurality of holes or slots manufacturers on the surface of the screen in order to perform the screening of fiber from the slurry in a manner said slurry forced to pass from said plurality of holes or slots made on said surface of said screen basket under to action of said rotor or without rotor, wherein as said slurry comprising the plethora of ingredients apart from said fiber which requires to be screened from said slurry for further processing and in case of said hole or slotted type of said screen basket with said rotor configuration designed in a manner to perform only screening operation in the majority of instance and said only a few of said rotor exists that can perform the cleaning operation as well at the higher cost and with specific geometry only. Furthermore, after a certain number of cycles said holes or slots of said screen basket starts choking or blocking due to varied reasons which include but not limited to the continuous deposition of contaminants in said hole or said slot, abrupt size of fiber stuck within said hole or said slot, non-turbulent flow of said slurry etc. which leads to decrease in the screening capacity of said screen basket as well as deteriorates the quality of screened fiber to declines the efficacy and efficiency of said screen basket.
[0003] The plurality of holes is articulated on the periphery of the screen wall in order to allow the intended size of fiber to pass and restrict the larger size of fibers to pass in order to perform separation of larger and shorter fiber. Furthermore, the amount of fiber that is unable to pass through the hole creates a jamming or choking issue are requires the facility to clean the holes and increase the flow speed to increase the screening force on the hole. Wherein in order to perform said cleaning operation and increase in the screening force a breaker strip can be provided on the internal periphery of said screen or on the side of the screen which is closer to the rotor. Wherein said breaker strip is configured with the continuous weld in order to provide sufficient strength and capacity to perform the intended operation.
[0004] Further, as shown in figure no. 01a to 3b, a screening configuration (P100) a screen basket (P101) configured with a rotor (P102) in order to perform the screening of the slurry from the holes (P103) under the rotating action of said rotor (P102). Wherein in order to generate turbulence of a slurry feed and required to be screened by means of said screening configuration (P100) a strip (P104) configured on the internal surface of said screen (P101) at two locations to produce the restrictions to circular motion of said flow along the internal surface of said screen basket (101) to generate the turbulence within said screen basket (P101) in order to alleviate the screening efficacy and efficiency of said screen configuration (P100). Whereas said strip (P104) is directly configured on the internal surface by means of the welded joint or plurality of the spot weld (P105) in order to provide the robust strength to sustain the striking force of said rotating slurry within said screen (P100). Further, said strip (P103) comprises the straight edge type of geometry due to which the circular rotating flow of said slurry within said screen (P101) directly strikes said strip (P104) as impact force and jumps on the other side of said strip (P104) stiffly as shown in figure no. 02 in order to force the contaminants against the said holes (P103) to generate the turbulent fluid flow within said screen basket (P101). However, the continuous striking of said rotating flow slurry against said strip (P104) leads to the breaking of said strip (P104) or quick wear and tear of said strip (P104) to replace said strip (P104) to produce the even quality of output from said screen configuration (P100), whereas the replacement of said strip (P104) only not feasible in case of said screen basket (P101) due to the permanent type of joint which include said welded joint or said spot weld (P105) based configuration of said strip (P104) with said screen basket (P101) to necessitate the replacement of said complete screen basket (P101) to increase the cost of said screen basket configuration (P100). Moreover, the stiff jumping due to the straight edge type of the geometry of said strip (P104) blocks said holes (P103) to require the continuous cleaning of said screen basket (P101) in order to maintain the quality of said screening operation from said screen basket (P100). Furthermore, the strip (P104) attached to said screen (P101) in order to break the long fiber into short fiber in accordance with the application requirement. Whereas in the case of the conventional screening configuration (P100) and said screen basket (P101) said strip (P104) configure in a fixed manner that cannot be replaced after wear or breakage of said strip (P104) which leads into replacement of the complete screen basket (P101) for said strip (P104) replacement instead of said strip (P104) change because of no provision is available in existing basket to replace said strip (P104) which is configure with said screen basket (P101) by means of fixed type of joint said spot weld (P105) and cannot be replaced until the removal of said welding. This non-replaceable feature of said strip (P104) leads into change of complete screen basket (P101) instead of said strip (P104) to increase the cost and down time for said stock preparation method. However, during the screening process the oversized contaminant can stuck into said hole (P103), which creates a jamming issue for said screen basket (P101). This jamming creates a lacking issue of throughput, therefore said strip (P104) can be provided to convert said long fiber into short fiber within the range of said hole (P103) diameter to maintain the continuous flow of screen material from said holes (P103).
OBJECT
[0005] An object of the present invention is to configure the rib with the screen basket.
[0006] Other object of the present invention is to perform automatic screen hole cleaning.
[0007] Another object of the present invention is to generate turbulence within the screen basket
[0008] Further, object of the present invention is to replace rib configuration for the screen basket.
[0009] Furthermore, object of the present invention is to formulate rigid and robust rib and screen configuration
[0010] Still other, object of the present invention is to facilitate unidirectional and bi-directional operation feasibility.
[0011] Still another object of the present invention is to configure the plurality of ribs with said screen basket.
[0012] Yet other, object of the present invention is to generate the local turbulence within said screen basket.
