FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a seat used for special automotive applications (ambulance vehicle etc) for enhancing the ease and utility of the occupants.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a seat used for special automotive applications (ambulance vehicle etc) for enhancing the ease and utility of the occupants which has a unique layout with no mountings on the floor.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a seat used for special automotive applications (ambulance vehicle etc) for enhancing the ease and utility of the occupants which is foldable and simple in construction.
Further object of the present invention is to provide a seat used for special automotive applications (ambulance vehicle etc) for enhancing the ease and utility of the occupants which can be used to increase seating capacity of the vehicle in stationary condition.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a seat used for special automotive applications (ambulance vehicle etc) for enhancing the ease and utility of the occupants which provides convenience to the passengers.

STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a seat for special automotive applications for enhancing the ease and utility of occupants comprising of a seat provided on upper frame attached to a foldable leg wherein a bracket is mounted at both ends of the seat.

The seat of the present invention comprising of seat (1) made of for example PU pad provided on upper frame (2) wherein rubber cushion (10) is packaged on the bottom side of the seat in such a way that sufficient gap is maintained between the user's fingers and spring (3) loaded folding leg (4).
The bottom frame of the foldable leg is provided with rubber cushion (5). The leg is hinged to said upper frame by means of hinge pin (6) and hinge bracket (7). A mounting bracket (9) is provided below the upper frame at both ends as shown in the fig. 3. Further, a support bracket (8) is provided under the pad for supporting the same.

The present invention is provided on the existing platform i.e. into the base layout with similar boundary constraints, which also satisfies the packaging and layout requirements.
Seat Layout
It is a bench type, front facing seat which can accommodate one person with the following features:
1.1) Occupies minimum space: The size of the seat is small.
1.2) Easy entry and exit: Owing to its simple shape and design, it allows for easy entry and exit from side door. This is unlike conventional seats where occupant needs to adjust his body posture to accommodate to seating layout (Fig. 1).
1.3) More accessibility: This layout allows for more accessibility as an occupant has more reach area of (upto 360 degrees). This is specially intended for special purpose vehicles like ambulances (Fig. 1), where the doctor/attendant gets benefited by the additional seating provision
2) Seat Structure: This seat is simple and easy to manufacture having the following features:
2.1) Minimum number of parts: This seat structure comprises of only 10 different types of parts (Fig. 2).
2.2) Light Weight: The weight of this seat is for ex. 4.1 Kg, that makes it one of the lightest seats and which is beneficial from vehicle performance point of view.

2.3) Ease of manufacturing: Mostly comprised of standard parts and few welding locations. Manufacturing of this seat is very easy and simple.
2.4) Ease of assembly: Due to less no of parts and only 2 sub assemblies i.e. frame and cushion, it becomes easy and fast to assemble this seat (Fig. 2).
3) Seat Mounting: Mountings of this seat are designed in a manner which makes it very simple and easy to be accommodated in a vehicle. The unique aspects of this seat's mounting are as follows:
3.1) Only 2 Primary Mountings: Only 2 primary mountings that can be provided anywhere like on vehicle sub assembly perpendicular to vehicle floor or on vehicle side body as per the packaging constraints (Fig. 3).
3.2) No Mounting on the vehicle floor: This seat has no mounting on the floor. It is associated with the floor through one folding seat support which also bears 50% weight of the seat (Fig. 3).
3.3) Unique Mounting Design: The mounting is designed in such a manner that it allows for only one direction of disengagement. That also secures the seat from accidentally getting disengaged or falling off (Fig. 4).
3.4) Vibration less Design: Rubber end caps are designed in interference with the mating component so that vibrations are damped to the desired levels. This also reduces the overall noise generated from the seat (Fig. 4).

3.5) Uniform Load distribution: A metal strip is provided
in the mounting bracket, which ensures uniform load distribution, reduced wear and improved product life. The absence of this metal strip causes the edge of the bracket to act as a knife and shear the bolt (Fig. 5).
4. Seat Mobility: Having only 2 mountings, which can be
disengaged easily making this seat mobile. The unique features of this function are given hereinbelow:
4.1) Disengagement and Folding: Being light and small, it can be easily disengaged and folded by a person. It allows folding as well as disengagement in one direction only (Fig. 6).
4.2) Packaging: After folding the seats dimension reduces. Its height also reduces to for ex. 90mm (Fig. 7). This makes it very easy to be packaged inside the vehicle when not in use or as per the requirement.
4.3) Safety of user: To prevent the snapping of the user's
fingers between the metal structures during the folding
of the seat, a rubber cushion is packaged on the
bottom side of the seat in such a way that there is
sufficient gap between the user's fingers and the
spring loaded folding leg.
This rubber cushion also eliminates the noise of the spring loaded folding leg, hitting the bottom of the seat (Fig. 7).

It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:

WE CLAIM:
1. A seat for special automotive applications for enhancing the ease and utility of occupants comprising of a seat provided on upper frame attached to a foldable leg wherein a bracket is mounted at both ends of the seat.
2. A seat for special automotive applications as claimed in claim 1, wherein the seat is made of for example PU pad in which a rubber cushion is packaged on the bottom side of the seat to maintain sufficient gap between the user's fingers and spring loaded folding leg.
3. A seat for special automotive applications as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the bottom frame of the foldable leg is provided with rubber cushion.
4. A seat for special automotive applications as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the leg is hinged to said upper frame such as herein described.
5. A seat for special automotive applications as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the mounting bracket is provided below the upper frame at both ends.
6. A seat for special automotive applications as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein a support bracket is provided under the pad.

7. A seat for special automotive applications as claimed in any of the
preceding claims, wherein said seat is associated with several
advantageous features such as herein described.
