Specification

DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION:
[001] The present invention generally relates to the tool used in the process for the shipbuilding. More specifically, the present invention relates to a shaft line and steering alignment tool for center lining the machining and alignment axis of shaft line and steering components in submarine.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART:
[002] Shafting alignment is an important process for ship building. Through the shafting, power is transferred from the main engine to the propeller which contributing to the ship movement. The shaft is an important part of the power unit that transmits the power of the main engine to the propeller and contributes to the movement of the ship. Shaft alignment quality and vibration characteristics are two important indicators of the overall quality of modern marine shafts. Poor alignment will cause a variety of shaft safety issues, including excessive vibration, high bearing temperatures, abnormal bearing abrasion, and even shaft fracture or crankshaft deformation, which will negatively impact a ship's dependability, safety, and health. The transverse propeller, main engine, unbalanced rotor inertia force, and misaligned excitation all work together to produce the spinning vibration of the shafting. The support characteristics and shifting alignment quality will be badly impacted as a result of excessive whirling vibration, which will also result in shaft resonance and abnormal stern bearing abrasion. As a result, the ship's safety and stealth would be severely compromised.

[003] CN107764172A discloses a kind of rudder center line of shafting piano wire measuring method, the described method comprises the following steps:Step 1: take a measurement frock;Step 2: during measurement, micrometer extension bar end is set to be contacted with hull steel-casting, micrometer microdrum end contacts with the piano wire being connected on hull, so as to form path, connects circuit indicator and lights, now read the reading of micrometer. A kind of rudder center line of shafting piano wire measuring method of the present invention, it is simple to operate, and in measurement, when micrometer touches the piano wire, the circuit is connected in frock, small bulbs electrified light emitting, by constantly adjusting, can adjust micrometer to being just struck against steel wire Lamp is like bright non-bright, measurement error is avoided, the similar measurement accuracy and efficiency for being related to piano wire can be greatly improved.

[004] US3580211A discloses a method of aligning the shaft of a main engine with the centerline of the propeller shaft in which the main bearing pins of the crankshaft are made hollow to permit sighting through the crankshaft and the bearings for alignment of all of the elements. The elements are aligned approximately by threading a piano wire through the elements and are more precisely adjusted by visual alignment after removal of the wire.

[005] The above given prior arts discloses the use of piano wire as a reference line for the centering of the shaft line and other components. The piano wire is tensioned to a standard amount by fixing at one end and having a weight over a pulley at the other end. Then the distances from the wire to the bearings are measured, and allowance is made for the sagging of the wire.

[006] The piano wire screen method mentioned in the prior art is used for aligning and center lining the shaft line and steer within the submarine. The alignment procedure by using piano wire is a laborious and drawn-out process that can take up to 3–4 days at times. The piano wire, which is around 5-8 m in length, tends to sag during this procedure due to temperature, time, and other variables that are out of human control. The readings that are acquired using piano wire have a variance of 06-08 microns, which is unacceptable for shaft line and steering alignment.

[007] The present invention overcomes the drawbacks of the above-mentioned prior arts. However, there are many shortcomings with the above-mentioned prior arts. The present invention helps to overcome the shortcomings of the designs of the above-mentioned prior arts.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[008] In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, an alignment tool of the present invention resolved the sagging problem faced while alignment of piano wire. Through the alignment tool, the reading does not alter, even after several hours or days. The alignment tool aids in maintaining the measured reading and prevents the piano wire from sagging, which assists in aligning activities with the highest degree of precision.
