Specification

DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present subject matter is related, in general to a vehicle having side covers on both right and left-hand side surfaces of a floor board, and more particularly, but not exclusively to side skirt assembly for a scooter type vehicle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] In vehicles, generally accessibility of few bolts is required for service requirement of the vehicles. Further, in a scooter type vehicle, few style parts may be dual coloured, in such cases paint mismatch is an issue. Further, most of the bolts in the scooter type vehicle are hidden behind the style parts and accessibility to the service bolts is a major problem. However, typically in the scooter type vehicle, to access such bolts, one or more parts have to be dismantled from the scooter type vehicle. Dismantling of parts is time consuming and effort driven.
[0003] In a conventional scooter type vehicle, in order to accommodate more helmets or increase the utility area, usually length of the seat assembly along with a utility unit is increased. However, in all vehicles, the placement of the foot peg remains same and thus it becomes ergonomically difficult for a pillion to access the foot peg. Additionally, in the conventional scooter type vehicle, the floor board is extended to provide a foot rest area and for installation of the foot peg. Thus, the foot rest area and the foot peg are at a level higher than the floor board which provides discomfort to a pillion rider while placing his/her foot on the foot peg. Thus, in conventional scooter type vehicles a position of the foot-peg for pillion rider is not ergonomically placed for reachability.
[0004] Also, in conventional scooter type vehicles, low height seats are preferred however, conventional frame structure of a scooter type vehicles is used. Thus, it becomes ergonomically challenging and uncomfortable for the pillion rider to keep his/her feet on the foot peg for a long time period, because he/she is required to uncomfortably bend his/her knees.
[0005] Further, in the scooter type of vehicle, an engine is mounted on chassis using a toggle link and mounting brackets. The engine dissipates heat when in running or ON condition. To protect riders from the heat, the engine is covered by side panels in the side, cover front in the front side of the engine, a rear portion of the engine is covered by tail lamp and cover tail centre bottom, an engine top side is covered by utility box and a tail centre. Typically, a cover front is below the seat and above the floor board mounted on the chassis member. In the scooter type vehicle cover front is used to cover the front portion of the engine. The engine has to be serviced periodically for the efficient performance of the vehicle.
[0006] Thus, during periodic service, if the engine carburettor or spark plug has to be accessed for servicing, the entire engine cover front has to be dismantled, which requires more time and effort. Sometimes the seat might also be dismantled for the service. Further, the tool size of cover front is very big thus increases the cost and difficulty in manufacturing.
[0007] Further limitations and disadvantages of conventional and traditional approaches will become apparent to one of skill in the art, through comparison of described systems with some aspects of the present disclosure, as set forth in the remainder of the present application and with reference to the drawings.
