Specification

A SQUARE SHAPED GUARD FOR TABLE, WALL, PEDESTAL FANS

TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present subject matter described herein, relates to a fan guard for mounting on an electrically-operated axial-flow portable fan, for example, Table, Wall and Pedestal (TPW) fans. More particularly, the present fan guard is a square shaped guard having plurality of radial ribs which is being reinforced by a plurality of square shaped peripheral wire frames ensuring accuracy, productivity, and safety in course of operating the fan.
REARGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Rear ground description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] Generally, table, wall, and pedestal (TPW) fan Impeller (blade) is being protected by utilizing a circular or square grill/guard. The fan guard mainly serves as a safety guard to prevent any accident, such as preventing insertion of finger into the fan and to inhibit entering of external material, for example, cloth into a fan.
[0004] In the aforementioned conventional fan guard, the wide space between the radial ribs and the square shaped peripheral frames reduces the rigidity of the fan guard in the radial direction as well as in the circumferential direction. Due to the decrement in the rigidity of the fan guard, there is high chances of accident to take place. For example, if any external material got stuck into the grills of the fan guard due to any possible reason, there is great risk of accident as there is high chances that the external material can go inside the fan guard as the space between the radial ribs got expand due to less rigidity of the fan guard.
[0005] The existing square guards comprise multiple parts which are welded at different locations to provide effect of square shape. With the multiple parts, the existing square guards have multiple joints which make the existing structure cumbersome during manufacturing and prone to failure over a time of use. For example, to obtain the square shape multiple ribs are joined in vertical and horizontal shape which requires multiple joints and corners of the square shape are achieved by joining small ribs together. With multiple joints, the existing designs of the square shaped guard do not provide aesthetic appeal to customers as well.
[0006] In order to solve the technical problems as mentioned above, there is a need of a fan guard which is highly rigid that prevents the entry of any external material, such as finger or any other material inside the fan from the fan guard and also provides the sufficient flow of air volume.
[0007] Therefore, there is a need in the art to develop a fan guard that is aesthetically better and can prevent expansion of ribs during forceful insertion of any external object. The present subject matter as explained and claimed provides a technical solution for the same. This will be achieved by firmly reinforcing all the radial ribs by plurality of peripheral frames, which not only ensures safety in course of operation, but also provides high productivity and high accuracy.
OBJECTS OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0008] Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one embodiment herein satisfy, are listed herein below.
[0009] The principal object of the present invention is to develop a square shaped fan guard with a plurality of radial ribs reinforced by a plurality of peripheral wire frames that ensures high accuracy, high productivity, and safety in course of operating the fan.
