COMPLETE SPECIFICATION
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
FIELD OF INVENTION:
[001] The present invention relates to the field of tip-up seat. The present invention in particular relates to a stop system and method to control and provide safe opening of the tip-up seat.
DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART:
[002] The tip-up seat is cantilever type design. To open the tip-up seat we need to pull the sitting pan and closing of tip-up seat will happen automatically with use of coil spring/ gas spring and counter weight. The problem observed in the available tip-up seat is that the people/ commuters weight is first fully transferred to the tip-up mechanism and then to the wall on which tip-up seat is mounted. With frequent sitting and leaving the tip-up seat by people/ commuters, the tip-up mechanism gets weaker and seat starts to droop from its original position, causing people/ commuters slipping from seat-pan and discomfort when seated.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
[026] The present invention provides a stop system and method to control and provide safe opening of the tip-up seat. The stop mechanism consists of two brackets designed and contoured suitably to ensure correct opening and closing of tip-up seat without any obstruction. One bracket fixed to the wall and another bracket fixed to the tip-up seat. The two brackets to be fixed between the tip-up seat and the wall. The stop mechanism also reduces the load applied to the tip-up mechanism when people sit on the tip-up seat. Fig. 1 shows tie-up seat without stop mechanism. Fig. 2 shows Tip-up seat with stop mechanism and Fig. 3 shows close view of stop mechanism.
[027] In the present invention the tip-up seat load carrying capacity is increased. The drooping of the tip-up seat is eliminated & the opening angle of the seat can be adjusted to provide more comfort to people/ commuters. The people load to the tip-up mechanism is reduced and life of the tip-up mechanism is increased. Maintenance cost of the tip-up mechanism is reduced.
[028] In the present invention the tip-up seat will not slide and is fixed to the wall in cantilever type. It is a stop mechanism for a tip-up seat to eliminate drooping of the tip-up seat, improve the comfort of the sitting people, reduce the load on the tip-up mechanism, increase the life of the tip-up mechanism and reduce maintenance cost of the tip-up seat. The stop mechanism to function no effort/ lever required by the people/ commuters to control the opening of the seat and the stopping of the seat opening is controlled by contact of two stop brackets.
[029] This is a stop mechanism for a tip-up seat to eliminate drooping of the tip-up seat, improve the comfort of the sitting people, reduce the load on the tip-up mechanism, increase the life of the tip-up mechanism and reduce maintenance cost of the tip-up seat. For the stop mechanism to function no effort/ lever required by the people/ commuters to control the opening of the seat and the stopping of the seat opening is controlled by contact of two stop brackets.
[030] The tip-up seat will be used in place where limited place available and it will be always in closed condition. When person needs to sit has to pull the sitting pan and the sitting pan rotates about the tip-up mechanism axis. Generally, tip-up mechanism is by spring or dead weight. This spring and dead weight mechanism over a period will lose its integrity and the tip-up seat will droop which makes the tip-up seat not suitable for sitting. In the present invention a stop mechanism bracket is attached to the external side of the sitting pan and a matting stop mechanism bracket is attached to the wall. With this stop bracket when the sitting pan is pulled to open, the stop bracket will resist the load transferred to the tip-up mechanism and make the tip-up seat safer for sitting.
[031] In the present invention the reason for the drooping in the tip-up seat is analysed and it is necessary to provide a stop mechanism bracket to prevent the tip-seat from drooping and to restrict the load on the tip-up mechanism.
[032] The stop mechanism bracket is shaped as L. One stop mechanism bracket is fixed to the wall and another stop mechanism bracket is fixed to the tip-up seat. When the sitting pan is pulled to open, the stop mechanism bracket in the tip-up seat will make contact with the stop mechanism bracket in the wall.
[033] Numerous modifications and adaptations of the system of the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art, and thus it is intended by the appended claims to cover all such modifications and adaptations which fall within the true spirit and scope of this invention. ,CLAIMS:WE CLAIM:
