Abstract: This invention relates to a strengthening assembly of blow molded part comprises an assembly of thin blow molded part with a hose by means of an intermediate injection molded part. It is associated with the following advantageous features: Prevention of crushing of blow molded part by stiffening the same. Sturdy assembly of blow molded part. Longer life span of assembly
FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a strengthening assembly of blow molded, part with
Rubber Hose. The assembly of blow molded part is particularly implemented in
automobile Industry.
BACKGROUND /PRIOR ART
Some assemblies have been suggested in the art for supply of cool air to glove
box in the vehicle to keep the articles inside the box in cool state. The same can
be discussed hereinbelow:
According to a prior artavailable in the market, for which reference may be
made to fig. 1, a rubber hose (2) is assembled with HVAC unit (1) by means of a
clamp (3) wherein the HVAC unit constituting injection molded part. The hose
is having an injection molded outlet (4) for supply of cool air to glove box.
According to another known art as illustrated in fig. 2, plastic duct (2') forming
blow molded part is press fitted into HVAC unit;injection molded part (1'). The
other end of the plastic duct is press fitted into glove box to provide a flow of
cool air to the same.
In accordance with another possible arrangement, blow molded plastic duct in
flow communication with HVAC unit at one end can be connected to a rubber
hose at other end for cool air supply into glove box.
However, the disadvantage with the- above would be that upon assembly of the
rubber hose on thin blow molded member, the later is most likely to fail by
getting crushed as it constitutes a weak structure.
Hence, it gives rise to a requirement to strengthen the assembly of thin blow
molded part with rubber hose, for which the present invention has been
devised.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to provide a strengthening assembly of
thin blow molded part which overcomes disadvantage (s) associated with the
prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a strengthening assembly
of thin blow molded part with Rubber Hose to prevent crushing of blow molded
part of assembly.
Further object of the present invention is to provide a strengthening assembly
of blow molded part which is simple in construction.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a strengthening assembly of thin
blow molded part comprising an assembly of blow molded part with a hose by
means of an intermediate injection molded part.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from
the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings of exemplary embodiments of invention and wherein: •

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE
ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
The proposed invention is directed to a strengthening assembly of thin blow
molded part with a hose so as to restrain failure of the blow molded part
following assembly when it is subject to use.
Now reference may be made to fig. 3 and 4, wherein a hose (3A) is assembled
with blow molded part (1A) with the help of an injection molded part (2A)
placed therebetween as shown. The blow molded part comprises a duct
carrying cool air to utility box such as glove box, upper box!
The injection molded part best seen in fig. 5 comprises a hollow member, one
end (A) of which constitutes a shape corresponding to that of duct and other
end (B) forms a profile corresponding to that of hose. So that the injection
molded part can be press fitted into the duct and the hose can be press fitted
into the injection molded part for tight fitment of the whole assembly.
Thus the present invention comprises a telescopic arrangement of blow molded
part, injection molded part and hose.
The thickness of the injection molded part is preferably larger than that of the
blow molded part so as to impart strength to the later.
With the help of invention the failure of blow molded part can be avoided.
The material of blow molded part, injection molded part and hose is HDPE
(High density polyethylene), PP (polypropylene) and EPDM rubber respectively
without restricting scope of the invention to the same. Thus other materials
readily apparent to a person skilled in the art are understood to be within
ambit of the invention.
Advantageous Features
- Prevention of crushing of blow molded part by stiffening the same.
- Sturdy assembly of blow molded part.
Longer life span of assembly.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications,
adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments
employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within
the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the
following claims:-
