A subframe assembly for a scooter type of motor vehicle, comprising a first strip member of substantially U-shaped configuration, the said strip member terminating in two fastener plates attachable to the rear portion of the main frame of the vehicle; first and second brackets respectively fixed to the two sides of the said strip member for mounting the pillion handle of the vehicle; a third bracket fixed to the outer side of the U-bend portion of the said strip member for mounting the top portion of the rear lamp assembly of the vehicle; a fourth bracket fixed to the inner side of the U-bend portion of the said strip member for mounting the fuel tank of the vehicle; an auxiliary strip member, surrounding the said U-bend portion and fixed to the main strip member, for mounting the rear fender assembly along with the bottom portion of the rear lamp assembly of the vehicle; a fifth bracket for mounting the fuel tank; sixth and seventh brackets respectively fixed to two sides of the auxiliary strip member for mounting the side panels of the vehicle.
