[0030] Referring to figures 2, a method for management of biomedical waste in accordance with the present invention is illustrated in the steps below:
[0031] The method 200 starts at step 210.
[0032] At step 220, the biomedical waste is stored in the container bag. In the present embodiment, the container bag is labelled with the pre-printed QR code. It is obvious to a person skilled in the art to use barcode and the like instead of QR code. The QR code is a machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares. The QR code is typically used for storing URLs or other information for reading by the camera of the electronic device. The QR codes contain data for a locator, identifier, or tracker that points to the application module or website.
[0033] Specifically, the pre-printed QR code is labelled on the container bag to store the data such as the name of a user like a hospital name, location of the container bag, date of collection of the bag, the weight of the container bag and the like of the container bag. Further, the container bag with the biomedical waste is stored in the container.
[0034] At step 230, the weight of the container bag is measured by using a weighing machine. In the present embodiment, the container is fixedly attached to the weighing machine. In another embodiment the container may be removably placed on the weighting machine. The weighing machine is provided with a wireless transmission module such as a Bluetooth or similar devices. The wireless module is used for transmitting the measured weight of the container bag to the electronic device. Specifically, the wireless transmission module is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data between fixed and mobile devices over short distances using short-wavelength UHF (ultra high frequency) radio waves.
[0035] Further, at step 240, the application module is provided in the electronic device. Specifically, the electronic device is suitable for scanning the pre-printed QR code labelled in the container bag by using a QR code scanner. The QR code scanner is provided in the application module of the electronic device for scanning the QR code labelled on the container bag. The QR code scanner uses a camera provided in the electronic device for scanning the QR code labelled on the container bag. By scanning the QR code, the data of the container bag is collected by the application module.
[0036] The application module is provided with a profile for the user. The profile of the user is enrolled with the details of the user such as a GPS coordinated where the container bag is collected, date, weight of the container bag and the like. The profile is secured by the user’s credential such as a username, password and the like which is accessed by providing the credential.
[0037] At step 250, the received collected data by scanning the QR code of the container bag is transmitted to the application module. Specifically, the transmitted data is stored in the profile of the user which is created on the application module. Initially, the user’s profile stores the collected data.
[0038] Further At step 260, storing the collected data from the user’s profile to a storing element. In the present embodiment, the storing element is a server which is used for storing the collected data on the application module. Specifically, the collected data is transferred and stored from the profile of the user. Further, the collected data is fetched and converted to a daily report, a monthly report, an annual report and an area report. The daily data is collected and stored on the storing element as long as defined by the user.
[0039] Furthermore at step 270, receiving the collected data in the application module of the electronic device. Specifically, accessing the stored data of the storing element from the profile of the user by using the application module. The daily, monthly, yearly report of the stored biomedical waste can be view by accessing the profile of the user. Also, any person can scan the labelled QR code on the container bag after disposal from the source and view about the details of the stored data in the container bag.
[0040] Also, the system is provided with a GPS (Global Positioning System). The GPS is provided for real-time tracking of the biomedical waste. By real-time tracking, the pilferage of the biomedical waste can be find out.
[0041] The method 200 ends at step 280.
[0042] Therefore, the present invention provides the advantage for management of biomedical waste. The system can track a biomedical waste from the source of generation to destination for final treatment and disposal. Also, the system can create a real-time online monitoring of waste generation, collection, transportation, treatment and disposal. The system is having an encrypted waste bag provided with a bar code which can be scanned to identify the details such as the user name, place, weight and the like of the waste bag. Further, the system can be tracked by using GPS. The system is easy to use also.
[0043] The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the present invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The embodiments were chosen and described to best explain the principles of the present invention, and its practical application, to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the present invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
