, Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The embodiments herein relate to a system and a method for mounting at least one divider panel assembly onto a work top.
BACKGROUND
[002] Generally, divider panels are used on table tops for dividing the available space and defining work spaces and to provide a visual barrier to users in a work place. Divider panels are either rigidly fixed onto the table top or removably mounted onto the table top. Usually, fixed divider panels are fixed onto the table top by using any of brackets, clamps and fasteners such as screws, bolts and nuts. Some fixed divider panels are welded onto the table top. Though, fixed divider panels are firmly engaged with the table top and is properly aligned at a vertical position with respect to the table top, the fixed divider panels may not be easily moved or removed from the table top once the divider panel is fixed which in turn may not allow to vary the work space, and poses hindrance in face to face interactions between users sitting opposite or adjacent each other. Fixed divider panels also pose difficulty in portability.
[003] Further, removable divider panels are mounted onto the table top by using elongated studs fixed to the table top. The elongated studs are exposed and remain vertically projecting from the table top which in turn would cause injury to the user when the divider panel is removed from the table top. The removable divider panels may not have good stability and in some cases, are not properly aligned vertically with respect to the table top which in turn affects aesthetic requirement in a row of workstations. Further, removable divider panels produce noise, due to inadvertent movement, which is undesirable.
[004] Therefore, there exists a need for a system and a method for mounting at least one divider panel assembly, which obviates the aforementioned drawbacks. Further, there exists a need for a divider panel assembly, which obviates the aforementioned drawbacks.
