Abstract: A method for improving the throughput and reducing the power consumption. The new protocol mechanism works by reducing the contention in Data transfers, without the need of any centralized control. The reduced contention allows the PS stations to sleep for much longer duration leading to large power saving, as compared to IEEE 802.11 protocl. This contention transfers also increase the throughput, since, collisions and backoffs are avoided.
