Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for placing and locking indexes on watch dial. The is a locking mechanism to lock the index on the dial plate. Then the indexes are placed on the dial and pressure in applied which goes down and the feet gets flare which spreads in the gap created in the dial.
FIELD OF INVENTION:
(0011 The present invention relates to the field of watch dial. The present
invention in particular relates to a system and method for placing and locking
indexes on watch dial
5 DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART:
[0021 Previous dial index machines of this nature have various drawbacks which it
is a general object of the present invention to overcome. In some cases, the heavy
weight of the moving parts restricts the rapidity with which the workpieces can be
indexed. Often the tools at the work stations must be so mounted as to obstruct
10 access to the stations for maintenance or tooling changes.

before insertion in the bore in which it is a sliding fit. The head, for the pulling
15 grip, is formed after assembly and during the upsetting the fit between the bore
and the part is rendered closer. During heading, the head rests on the bottom of a
bore, Fig. 8, in a die counterbored at to receive the head. The projecting part of the
stem passes through an accurately fitting hole in a die counterbored to receive a
die shaped at to yield the form of head required. A punch slides in the die to effect

the heading. As the die is indexed to the position A. the spring band effects the
reclosing of the die parts, and at this position a fresh blank is inserted either by
hand or by an automatic device.
[0051 Publication No. US3646653 relates to a depression in the die is filled with a
liquid or pasty substance which supports the dial blank. A descending punch
pushes the blank part way into the depression causing the substance of the cushion
to force the blank into the punch hollows corresponding to the symbols to be
raised. The die depression is surrounded by an upstanding rim that penetrates part
way into the blank when the latter is pressed by the punch.

[012) [n order to overcome above listed prior art, the present invention aims to
provide to a system and method for placing and locking indexes/decorative
components on watch dial
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
[013) The principal object of the present invention is to provide a system and
method for placing and locking indexes/decorative components on watch dial.
[014) Another object of the present invention is to provide easy and effective
method of locking indexes/decorative components on watch dial.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[015] The present invention relates to a system and method for placing and
locking indexes/decorative components on watch Jial. There is a mechanical
locking mechanism to lock the index/decorative components on the dial
plate. Index which is decorative part contains two feet on its bottom shown in
figure I and help to locate the position of the index on the dial and also locking of
the index with dial. By locking mechanism feet of these indexes got flared as
shown in figure 4, which basically help to robust the assembly of dial and index.
5 After placing the index on dial shown in figure 2, pressure is applied, which
pushes the locking pins upward and feet gets flare.
(016] As the index/decorative components is made of malleable material, its gets
flared on putting up a little pressure. To flare the index feet, length of the feet
should be at least equal to dial thickness or more than that. And dial is placed on
10 the locking mechanism and force is applied locking pins moves toward index feet
and push on the material of feet which flares the index.
BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[017] It is to be noted, however, that the appended drawings illustrate only
typical embodiments of this invention and are therefore not to be considered
15 for limiting of its scope, for the invention may admit to other equally effective
embodiments.

[018] Figure I shows separate dial and index according to the present invention;
[019] Figure 2 shows assembling of the index and dial before locking.
[020] Figure 3 shows process of locking mechanism
[021] Figure 4 shows assembly of index and dial after riveting.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
[022] The present invention relates to a system and method for placing and
locking indexes/decorative components on watch dial. There is a mechanical
locking mechanism to lock the index/decorative components on the dial plate.
25 Index which is decorative part contains two feet on its bottom shown in figure 1
and help to locate the position of the index on the dial and also locking of the
index with dial. By locking mechanism feet of these indexes got flared as shown
in figure 4, which basically help to robust the assembly of dial and index. After
placing the index on dial shown in figure 2, pressure is applied, which pushes the
locking pins upward and feet gets flare.
5 [023] As the index/decorative components is made of malleable material, its gets
flared on putting up a little pressure. To flare the index feet, length of the feet
should be at least equal to dial thickness or more than that. And dial is placed on
the locking mechanism and force is applied locking pins moves toward index feet
and push on the material of feet which flares the index.
10 [024] Round steel plates are used to manufacture this mechanism of index
locking. Holes are drilled in top and bottom plate according to hole position of the
index on the dial. Locking pins are in conical shape placed below the top plate of
the tool as shown in figure 3 position exactly behind the index and 4 springs
which helps to maintain the gap between these tools. When pressure is applied
15 against the spring force than locking pins move towards the feet of the index and
flares the index feet.
[025] This mechanism is created as per the requirement of locking of the index
with dial mechanically. This is an easy and effective method of locking
indexes/decorative components on watch dial
20 [026] Numerous modifications and adaptations of the system of the present
invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art, and thus it is intended
by the appended claims to cover all such modifications and adaptations
which fall within the true spirit and scope of this invention.
WE CLAIM:
1. A system and method for placing and locking indexes on watch
dial comprises a mechanical locking mechanism to lock the
index/ decorative components on the dial plate characterized in
that conical round shape holes are created on the dial plate using
conical drill, having feet length less than the width of the dial, on
dial plate there is a base consisting the respective pin, the upper
part is connected to the lower part with the help of spring, dial is
place on the upper part and pressed so that the pins from the
bottom plate comes out and flare the index feet wherein a cut of
1/2 of width of dial plate is created on the dial plate and place
the indexes/ decorative components on the dial and pressure in
applied which goes down and the feet gets flare which spreads in
the gap created in the dial.
2. The system and method for placing and locking indexes on watch
dial, as claimed in claim 1, wherein there will be two pins on the
lower side of the feet which gets pressure and flaring of material
happens.
3. The system and method for placing and locking indexes on watch
dial, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the index/ decorative
components is made of malleable material, its gets flared on
putting up a little pressure.
