OBJECT OF INVENTION
A primary object of the present invention is to provide an Internet based
streaming solution system that will overcome the shortcomings of the prior arts.
A second object is to develop a system based on concept of cybernetic of action
space by extending the action space of the human control of streaming devices
with the mobile communication device, enabling the user to send and exchange
information, issue or receive commands.
Another object is to explore ways of extending this notion of streaming
Automation by applying mobility to it using various technologies that are
available in our information age. These technologies include mobile
communication device and the Internet, which are becoming part of our
everyday lives.
An additional object is to provide power saving feature of Home Media Server,
other devices.
A further object is to provide a better user control over media streaming capable

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A system for remote control management of realtime streaming capable device
which allows a user to monitor, view, control, switch between various realtime
streaming devices from a distant location via a computing system. A system is
developed based on concept of cybernetic of action space by extending the
action space of human control of streaming devices with mobile communication
device, enabling the user to send information, issue / receive commands. The
inventive system comprises a plurality of streaming capable devices positioned
within a home; a mobile communication module in communication with the
plurality of streaming capable devices through a streaming module. The
streaming module is connected to the Internet and a server computer (web
server). The user can view, monitor, control, use device switching feature in of
the streaming devices. In addition, the streaming module may notify / publish
the web server the IP, MAC and streaming flag information.
In view of foregoing disadvantages Internet in the known types of streaming
devices now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a new
combination solution of mobile network and Internet based audio video
streaming solution wherein the same can be utilized for allowing a user to use
his / her streaming capable device in more efficient and robust manner from a
distant location via global computer network.
The general purposes of the invention relates to the field of real time streaming
capable devices / systems connected to network (Internet / LAN / WiMax / WiFi /
Wibro / CDMA etc.), more particularly devices such as home media servers, Web
Camera / CCTV captures etc. The invention targets at the mechanism and
procedure for developing a communication system / mechanism for remote
control of real time audio / video streaming capable devices. The invention
architecture is developed for communication between the mobile communication
device (transmitter) (i.e. GSM or CDMA) and a home mobile terminal module that
is further connected to streaming capable device / devices. The transmitter
(mobile communication device) sends control commands in text / numerical
format such as-"turn on", "turn off", "turn on camera 1" or messages of such sort
that are preceded by the identification of the streaming capable device unit to be
controlled.
The mobile communication device transmits the command signals over a mobile
network to a home mobile module interface for receiving the command signals.
The home mobile module interface controls the streaming capable device in
accordance with the received command signals.
On the receipt of the messages, the microcontroller powers (power-ons) the
streaming device and the streaming module that is connected to the Internet.
The streaming mechanism of these devices gets triggered.
As above a stream transfer request comes, the stream transfer begins when the
device client I/O request. Further, a process issues a prepared command to
the device driver to prepare a number of buffers for streaming mode with the
device process.
To begin the actual transfer of multimedia data, the device I / 0 request issues a
start streaming command to the device driver. Upon receiving the start
streaming command, the multimedia gets ready for connection and consequent
multimedia streaming.
This is a novel approach in which the connection is established between
streaming capable devices (transmitters - device with network connection
capability) and client (receiver-device with network connection capability) using
socket connection approach. This approach uses a central database (Placed on a
public IP address) to exchange self-information between transmitter and
receiver.
To attain this, the present invention generally comprises a plurality of streaming
capable devices positioned in home, a streaming control unit wherein the
streaming control unit is connected to the global network and a Web Server
having server computers connected to the global computer network and in
communication with the streaming control unit. The streaming control devices
may be connected of various streaming devices such as CCTV, Web Camera, TV
Tuner Card, Home Media Server and various other devices that can be utilized to
streaming media content. The user is capable of monitoring and controlling the
streaming control device within the home by accessing a web based application
connected to the Web Server. The user can view, monitor and control features
of their streaming devices through the web based application such as setting
changes, and switching between devices.
