THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to procurement of goods and services.
In particular, the invention relates to a system for analyzing and taking actions pertaining to contracts and supplier's performance in procurement process.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In the process of procurement of goods and services, performance of the supplier against the contract plays very important role. Present invention discloses a system for analyzing and managing contract and supplier performance in procurement process. Based on the performance report of the supplier, it allows the user to make a decision regarding renewal or termination of the contract with specified supplier.
PRIOR ART
Patent application US2005203821A1 discloses a system to provide a comprehensive contract and supplier management tool for good and service procurement of an enterprise. The system includes an information database of suppliers and contracts used by good and service procurement personnel but it does not help in making decision about renewal or termination of the contract of specific supplier.

Another patent application in the prior art US2009I82606A1 discloses the system and method to evaluate supplier performance against the terms of a contract,
Still another patent application US2003090509A1 provides methods and systems for documenting and evaluating the performance of their global supplier base.
While, patent application US2008255896A1 discloses a system and method for aiding a buyer to create a supplier scorecard.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention is to provide a system for analyzing and taking actions pertaining to contracts and supplier's performance in procurement process.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system, which facilitates to make a decision regarding renewal or termination of the contract with specified supplier based on performance of the supplier.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention introduces a system containing an integration of iContract module and SPM module, allowing the user to view the performance report of the supplier, present in SPM module in connection to any contract being selected from iContract module. Based on the performance report of the supplier, it allows the user to make a

decision regarding renewal or termination of the contract with specified supplier. The system of the present invention also allows the user to view the contracts present in iContract module in relation to specific supplier being selected from SPM module. Thus, further allowing the user to decide about the related contracts for low performing suppliers which further provides access to see the terms in relation to SLA or termination.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
A system according to an embodiment of the present invention is designed to provide a system containing an integration of iContract module and SPM module for analyzing and taking actions pertaining to contracts and supplier's performance in procurement process. Said system adapted for viewing the supplier performance report corresponding to the specific contract being selected for an action; said system further adapted for viewing contracts and its clauses based on the level of performance corresponding to the specific supplier being selected.
In one of the embodiment of the present system, iContract module of said system contains database of contracts of suppliers. iContract module is meant for creating new contract based on a template and storing the contract in the database. It is further meant for searching the contract in the database. Present system facilitates viewing the supplier performance report which is stored in SPM module corresponding to the specific contract being selected for an action
In another embodiment of the present system, Supplier Performance Management (SPM) module is meant for measuring, analyzing and managing the performance of the supplier in an order to reduce the costs and risks of procurement, aiding continuous improvement of supplier's performance. Said SPM module is meant for measuring the performance of the supplier by i) creating metrics or the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ii) measuring the performance against those metrics; thus it helps in continuous improvement of the supplier's performance. KPIs are set of questions capturing the

scores pertaining to the supplier for these questions which can be on quality, delivery time, etc. SPM module is further meant for identifying potential issues and their root causes which further can be resolved.
In still another embodiment of the present system, said system further comprises Alert System for generating alert depending on the score of supplier's performance.
Typically, said system is adapted for mapping of specific KPI of the supplier in SPM module based on the type alert generated by the system. E.g. if alert is given by the iContract module pertaining to expiry period of the contract then it will be mapped to the overall performance report. If alert is given for payment milestone then it will be mapped to quality report or to the KPI showing the quality report scores of the supplier
In another embodiment of the present system, said SPM module comprises a system containing decision rules, which links to contract clauses based on the level of performance indicated in supplier performance report. Thus it is adapted to link to termination clause and/ or penalty clause in the contract of supplier showing poor, average or bad performance level in the supplier performance report. It is further adapted to link to renewal clause in the contract of supplier showing high performance level in the supplier performance report.
In still another embodiment of the present system, said SPM module measures the performance of supplier by defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and associating

these KPIs with scorecard. It also facilitates to create new Key Performance Indicator(s) and/ or modify the existing Key Performance Indicator(s) and to assign new scores.

We Claim,
1. A system containing an integration of iContract module containing database of contracts of suppliers; and SPM module adapted for measuring, analyzing and managing the performance of a supplier; said system adapted for analyzing and taking actions pertaining to contracts and supplier's performance in procurement process; said system adapted for viewing the supplier performance report corresponding to the specific contract being selected for an action; said system further adapted for viewing contracts and its clauses based on the level of performance corresponding to the specific supplier being selected.
2. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein, said SPM module measures the performance of supplier by defining Key Performance Indicators {KPIs) and associating these KPIs with scorecard; said KPIs are set of questions capturing the scores pertaining to the supplier for these questions.
■3. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein, said system further comprises Alert System for generating alert depending on the score of supplier's performance.
4. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said system adapted for mapping of specific KPI of the supplier in SPM module based on the type alert generated by the system.

5. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein, said SPM module comprises a system containing decision rules, which links to contract clauses based on the level of performance indicated in supplier performance report.
6. The system as claimed in claim 5, wherein, said system containing decision rules adapted to link to termination clause and/ or penalty clause in the contract of supplier showing poor, average or bad performance level in the supplier performance report.
7. The system as claimed in claim 5, wherein, said system containing decision rules further adapted to link to renewal clause in the contract of supplier showing high performance level in the supplier performance report.
8. The system as claimed in claim 2, wherein, SPM module facilitates to create new Key Performance Indicator(s) and/ or modify the existing Key Performance Indicator(s); said SPM module further facilitates to assign new scores.

A method for analyzing and taking actions pertaining to contracts and supplier's performance in procurement process, said method comprises: creating database of contracts of suppliers or adding contract(s) of supplier to the existing database in iContract module; and measuring, analyzing and managing the performance of a supplier in SPM module; said method adapted for viewing the supplier performance report corresponding to the specific contract being selected for an action; said method further adapted for viewing contracts and its clauses based on the level of performance corresponding to the specific supplier being selected.

The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein, said method involved in SPM module measures the performance of supplier by defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and associating these KPIs with scorecard; said KPIs are set of questions capturing the scores pertaining to the supplier for these questions.
11. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein, said method further comprises generation of alert, depending on the score of supplier's performance.
12. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein, said method adapted for mapping of specific KPI of the supplier in SPM module based on the type alert generated by the
system.
13. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein, said method comprises a step of creating decision rules, which links to contract clauses based on the level of performance indicated in supplier performance report.
14. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein, said method of creating decision rules adapted to link to termination clause and/ or penalty clause in the contract of supplier showing poor, average or bad performance level in the supplier performance report.

15. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein, said method of creating decision rules adapted to link to renewal clause in the contract of supplier showing high performance level in the supplier performance report.
16. The method as claimed in claim 10, wherein, said method facilitates to create new Key Performance Indicator(s) and/ or modify the existing Key Performance Indicator(s); said method further facilitates to assign new scores.
