A System For Control And Monitoring Of A Group Of Exhauster Mechanism Operated By Ht Induction Motor In Steel Melting Shops

Abstract: A system for control and monitoring of a group of exhauster mechanism operated by HT induction motor of Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) converters of Steel Melting Shop (SMS). More particularly, the system facilitate networking of the control processor units for the standalone high power dual speed induction motor of exhauster of each converter, for achieving centralized monitoring through a common electronic console for fault diagnosis. The integrated system control a group of high power dual speed induction motors and interconnected auxiliaries through PLC based system provided with electrical safety interlock to trip exhauster motor and energizing lance mechanism to go up, if 220 VAC fails or 24 VDC fails or processor of PLC goes into fault mode, switch means on PLC panel or Boiler Desk providing for said speed selection of either 750rpm to 1500rpm or reverse, involving selective speed breakers; operation of lubrication system including starting oil pump, spare oil pump and operative valve means.The system of the present invention is directed to benefit the steel plant by increasing productivity with reduction in down-time of converters.

Specification

A system for control and monitoring of a group of exhauster mechanism operated by HT
induction motor of Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) converters of Steel Melting Shop (SMS).
More particularly, the system facilitate networking of the control processor units for the
