CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS AND PRIORITY
[001] The present application claims priority from Indian provisional application no. 201821048280 filed on 20th December 2018.
TECHNICAL FIELD
[002] The present subject matter described herein, in general, relates to a system for cutting a pipe.
BACKGROUND
[003] Generally, in the process of cutting of pipes, there is a process which requires continuous adjustment and realignment according to the thickness of the pipes. This is also because of bending of the pipes/bars while cutting. Due to the use of conventional machines for cutting the pipe, the total time to complete pipe cutting process increases upto 46 minutes, whereas the standard time for cutting one pipe is 4 minutes. Hence, it requires 11 times more time as compared to the standard time required for cutting one pipe.
[004] Such conventional machines have certain limitations such as complexity of tools, higher cost, higher maintenance, etc., which further results in decreased productivity and increase consumption of time. Further, due to the use of conventional machines, the cutting process becomes unsafe and tedious/tiresome for the operatives. Due to the fatigue and excess time, the productivity gets affected.

The top opening 108 of each of the at least two side blocks 104 and the middle block 106 comprises the set of slots 202.
[0021] Further, the plurality of sets of slots 202 are configured for rotatably mounting of the set of rollers 110. The pipe 102 is placed on the set of rollers 110. The set of rollers 110 are idler rollers configured to provide rotational motion of the pipe 102. Further, a cutting operation is performed perpendicular to an axis of the pipe 102 on its circumference. Furthermore, the cutting operation is performed on a portion of the pipe 102 that is placed above the middle block 106 in order to prevent falling down of separated pieces of the pipe 102 after cutting.
[0022] In one embodiment, the plurality of set of slots 202 are configured to mount the set of rollers 110 at different slot positions to accommodate the pipe 102 of different diameters. The set of slots 202 may be separated with a predefined distance. The set of rollers 110 may be shifted from one set of slots to another set of slots in order to accommodate the pipe 202 of different diameter.

The tray 114 is configured to collect scrap coming from the top opening 108 of the middle block 106 while performing cutting operation.
[0025] The system 100 for cutting the pipe 102 is advantageous because it minimizes the cutting time and maintain standard cutting time per pipe 102 as the system 100 provides the rotation of the pipe 102 section on the plurality of idlers rollers 110. The system 100 ensures the safety of the operators as the middle block 106 supports and prevents falling down of separated pieces of the pipe 102 after cutting. It further reduces fatigue of the operators/workers during handling of the pipe 102. Further, the system 100 increases the productivity.
[0026] Due to the use of the system 100 for cutting the pipe 102, total cutting time reduces from 46min. to 25 min. and cutting time per pipe 102 is maintained to 4min. (standard cutting time). Further, total number of pipes cutting per day is increased from 4 pipes to 6 pipes.
