Abstract: This invention relates to a system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition comprises of a micro switch fitted in the hood latch, actuation (pressing/unpressing) of which gives signals to other parts of vehicle for different purposes.
FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition.
PRIOR ART
The vehicles running in extremely cold countries have a problem of heavy snow deposition on exterior parts.
Heavy snow is also deposited on the inside of hood latch during running condition. Due to this heavy snow deposition, the micro switch fitted in the hood latch gets stuck due to snow weight and does not function.
Problem Encountered in Micro Switch Working:
The condition of cold air flow resulting in snow deposition on hood latch is shown in figure 3.
As shown in figure 6, Primary Latch Guides the movement (Pressing and up-pressing) of the switch in relation to Hood Close and Hood Open Position as desired.
But during vehicle running condition in cold countries, snow is accumulated on the hood latch. When snow is accumulated particularly in area shown in figure 7 (between Micro-Switch leaf and primary Latch), the Micro-switch restricts its movement in Release direction. The deposited snow becomes hard and does not allow the micro switch to release to its original position in case of hood opening just following the snow deposition.
Currently known methods to keep the Hood Latch with micro switch snow free are as follows:
1. Provision of such a layout of vehicle to direct the heat generated inside the engine cabin towards hood latch to continuously melt the snow deposited over hood latch.
2. Addition of special part to cover the hood latch to prevent snow deposition on hood latch.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition which overcomes disadvantage(s) associated with the prior art(s).
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition which is simple in construction.
Further object of the present invention is to provide a system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition which is efficient.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition comprises of a micro switch fitted in the hood latch, actuation (pressing/unpressing) of which gives signals to other parts of vehicle for different purposes.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and wherein:

removal and micro switch functioning.
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
The present invention discloses a system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition. It comprises of a micro switch fitted in the hood latch, actuation (pressing/unpressing) of which gives signals to other parts of vehicle for different purposes.
The "Shovel" shape Shoe fitted on primary latch is designed in such a way that it removes the snow which is in the way of the switch movement.
Thus, the present invention prevents the malfunctioning of micro switch fitted in the hood latch while vehicle is running under extreme climatic condition like heavy snowfall.
Various parts of hood latch are as shown in fig. 1 and 2 indicating the following:
1. Base Hood Latch
2. Primary Latch
3. Secondary Latch
4. Pawl
5. Plate Hood Latch
6. Primary Spring
7. Pawl Spring
8. Rivet
9. Micro-Switch
10. Shoe
11. Secondary Spring
This shoe facilitates the removal of the snow deposited in between Leaf of Micro Switch and Primary Latch, thus allowing the Micro-switch to move in its release direction.
Reference may be made to fig 8-10 indicating primary latch and shoe.
When the primary latch moves in the directions shown in figure 11 and 12, the shoe facilitates the wiping off the snow from its path.
Its function as a complete assembly is shown in below figure 11 and figure 12.
Figures 13 and 14 show the effectiveness of invention for snow removal and micro switch functioning.
Advantages of present invention over prior art
1. No change in vehicle layout to direct the Engine heat towards the Hood Latch area. So the present invention can be applied to vehicle of any layout.
2. Lighter weight (weight of additional cover part is saved).
3. Cost effective.
4. Simple construction.
5. Decrease in the wear and tear of Micro Switch Leaf in comparison to metal contact between switch leaf and primary latch.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-
WE CLAIM;
1. A system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition comprises of a micro switch fitted in the hood latch, actuation (pressing/unpressing) of which gives signals to other parts of vehicle for different purposes.
2. A system as claimed in claim 1, comprising of Shovel shape Shoe fitted on primary latch designed in such a way that it removes the snow which is in the way of the switch movement.
3. A system as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein said hood latch comprising of Base Hood Latch, Primary Latch, Secondary Latch, Pawl ,Plate Hood Latch, Primary Spring, Pawl Spring, Rivet, Micro-Switch, Shoe & Secondary Spring connected to each other as shown in fig. 1 and 2.
4. A system for functioning of micro switch of vehicle with heavy snow deposition substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
