PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be registered.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to a system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in off highway equipments. Particularly this invention relates a system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in off highway equipment during engine start time and vehicle movement.
STATE OF THE ART IN THE FIELD
In the off highway equipment, for example, Dump trucks heavy duty starting motor is used with the engine for cranking of engine. The battery power is directly connected to starting motor solenoid through a battery cut-off switch. It is noticed that sometime the starting motors engages accidently due to the malfunctioning of the motor solenoid or battery cut-off switch. Therefore and to prevent the above mentioned problem in the higher model of trucks, an over crank protection (OCP) is available. There is no system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor.
There are disadvantages associated with the conventional engagement of starting motor. One of the disadvantages is that the user accidentally engages the starting motor that it burns the starting motor, and causes wire harness and personal injuries.
Another disadvantage associated with the conventional engagement of starting motor is that the starting motors engages due to the malfunctioning of the magnetic switch.
Yet another disadvantage associated with the conventional engagement of starting motor is that during movement the continuous engagement of the motor causes damage to pinion and ring gear.
Still another disadvantage associated with the conventional engagement of starting motor is that continuous engagement of the motor during traveling causes heavy load on battery.
A further disadvantage associated with the conventional engagement of starting motor is that continuous engagement of the motor during traveling causes heavy load on battery and some time the battery explodes.
Another disadvantage associated with the conventional engagement of starting motor is that the starter motor / engine problems cannot be attended during engine 'ON' condition.
Still another disadvantage associated with the conventional engagement of starting motor is that it damages the motor / engine and related equipments and thus causes higher maintenance that is higher cost to the user.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
Therefore an object of the present invention is to provide a system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in the off highway equipment which obviates the disadvantages associated with conventional engagement of starting motor.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in the off highway equipments which stops starting motor failure.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a system which stops the damages caused by continuous engagement.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a system which stops any damage to the user or its surrounding.
A further object of the present invention is to provide a system which doesn’t cause engagement of the starter motor even in the case of malfunction.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system which stops the continuous engagement and there is no heavy load on battery.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in the automobiles which is simple and cost effective.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided a system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in off highway equipments comprising a starter motor to be connected to a battery relay and 4st switch. The battery relay is connected with a set of batteries through a manual cut off switch. The battery relay and an alternator are connected with connector tag CN-1 and another connector tag CN-3. An ammeter is connected with connector tag CN-1. Start switch is connected with connector tag CN-1 and another connector tag CN-3 though safety relay and neutral relay. The Start switch is connected with fuel cut off solenoid by an engine off switch and engine off fuse.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
A system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in off highway equipment, according to a preferred embodiment, is herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein;
Fig. 1, illustrates circuit diagram of the system of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
A system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in off highway equipment’s is herein described with numerous specific details so as to provide a complete understanding of the invention. However, these specific details are exemplary details and should not be treated as the limitation to the scope of the invention. Throughout this specification the word “comprise” or variations such as “comprises or comprising”, will be understood to imply the inclusions of a stated element, integer or step, or group of elements, integers or steps, but not the exclusions of any other element, integer or step or group of elements, integers or steps.
Referring to the drawings, figure1, a system of the present invention is shown. The system comprises a starter motor (1) adapted to be connected to a battery relay (2) and 4st switch (3). The battery relay (2) is connected with a set of batteries (4) through a manual cut off switch (5). The battery relay (2) and an alternator (6) are connected with a connector tag CN-1 (7) and another connector tag CN-3 (8). An ammeter (9) for measuring electric current in amperes is connected with the connector tag CN-1 (7) and the connector tag CN-3 (8). A start switch (10) is connected with the connector tag CN-1 (7) and the connector tag CN-3 (8) though a safety relay (11) and a neutral relay (12) which is activated by a current or signal in one circuit to open or close another circuit. The start switch (10) is also connected with a fuel cut off solenoid (13) by an engine off switch (14) and engine off fuse (15).
Thus, battery power supplied / connected to the starting motor, is controlled through relays in addition to a battery cut-off switch. The battery power supplied to the starting motor is cut-off once the engine is started. Therefore the starting motor power is cut-off from the battery power when the engine is in 'ON' condition and also the automobile is in traveling condition. The starting motor power does not cut-off from the battery power when the engine is in ‘OFF’ condition and the automobiles speed is zero.
In one embodiment, the system to prevent accidental engagement of starting motor in the automobiles is used on low end rear dump trucks and off-highway rear dump trucks.
Certain features of the invention have been described with reference to the exemplary embodiments. However, the description is not intended to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the exemplary embodiments as well as other embodiments of the invention, which are apparent to the persons skilled in the art to which the invention pertains, are deemed to lie within the spirit and scope of the invention.
