Abstract: This invention related to a tailgate glass locator for vehicle and a method of mounting the same is disclosed. This tailgate glass locator comprises a locator pin member (1), a having cylindrical body, a tapered portion (3) on one end of the locator pin member (1), a thread portion (2) on the locator pin member (1), and a bush locator member (4) with groove including internal thread, wherein the bush locator member (4) comprises matching profile of a tailgate glass (6) at one face and groove on the other face that is fixed to the said glass (6) with the help of glue. The bush locator member (4) comprises lip (6) at one said for indication and fixing to the said glass (6). Hence, it is possible to accommodate more number of glasses in bin, which results in reduction of transportation cost.

PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention is related to the glass locator of vehicles and more particularly it relates to a tailgate glass locator for vehicles.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Generally tailgate glass is transported in bin from one place to other. If tailgate locator is in single piece it will take more space in bins and less no of glass will come in to the bin, hence Component is split in two parts so that more no of glass can be accommodated in the bin in order to reduce the transportation cost. Tailgate locator is used for locating the tailgate glass. There are different type of tailgate glass locator are available, one of tailgate glass locator is snap fitted which is having complex construction and there is complexity of tooling for simple and small part.
The present invention overcomes the above said limitations by eliminating the snap fit in order to minimize the time taken to assemble. Locator assembly is designed taking into consideration of logistic part in view and to save transportation cost.
OBJECTS OF INVENTION
The main object of the present invention is to provide a tailgate glass locator for vehicles.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method of mounting tailgate glass locator.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a tailgate glass locator for vehicle which is simple in construction and cost effective.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a tailgate glass locator for vehicle which is screw type tailgate glass locator.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a tailgate glass locator for vehicle which reduces the transportation cost.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
A tailgate glass locator for vehicles comprises; locator pin member having cylindrical body, tapered portion on one end of the said locator pin, thread portion on said locator pin, bush locator member with groove having internal thread, wherein said bush locator member comprises matching profile of said glass at one face and groove on the other face which is fixed to the said glass with the help of glue, said bush locator member comprises lip at one side for indication and fixing to the said glass .
A tailgate glass locator for vehicles in accordance with this invention, wherein said thread portion on said locator pin member is single thread for fastening to the said bush locator member.
A tailgate glass locator for vehicles in accordance with this invention, wherein said groove on said bush locator member comprises internal thread.
A tailgate glass locator for vehicles in accordance with this invention, wherein said lip of said bush locator member is extended portion for indication and fixing to the said glass.
A tailgate glass locator for vehicles in accordance with this invention, wherein said lips is configured to be provided in horizontal position facing the inner side of the glass.
Method of mounting a tailgate glass locator for vehicles comprises; selecting the locator pin member, selecting the bush locator member, gluing the said bush locator member on the said tailgate glass, screwing the said locator pin member to the said bush locator member.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
In accordance with the present invention, the tailgate glass locator for vehicle comprises; locator pin member (1) having cylindrical body, tapered portion (3) at one end of said locator pin for guiding the tail gate glass on BIW or vehicle body, thread portion (2) of said locator pin, bush locator member (4) with internal thread.
The said locator is made for easy location of tailgate glass on the vehicle body. The said locator is screw type locator. The said bush locator member (4) comprises profile of glass at its base which is glued to the tailgate glass (6) and at other end groove with internal thread, and the said locator pin member is screwed on to the said bush locator member. Bush locator member (4) which comprises small lip (5) on one side for indication and proper fixing the said bush locator member. Only a single thread turn is provided in order to minimize the time taken to assemble.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
Referring now to the drawings wherein the showings are for the purpose of
illustrating a preferred embodiment of the invention only, and not for the
purpose of limiting the same,
Figure -1 shows the locator pin member, in accordance with the present
invention.
Figure-2 shows the bush locator member, in accordance with the present
invention.
Figure-3 shows the assembly of said tailgate glass locator.
Now referring to figure 1 and 2, In accordance with the present invention, tailgate glass locator for vehicle comprises; locator pin member (1) having cylindrical body, tapered portion (3) at one end of said locator pin member, thread portion (2) on the said locator pin member, bush locator member (4) which comprises small lip (5) on one side for indication and proper fixing the said bush locator. Said bush locator member (4) comprises profile of glass on one face and groove with internal thread on the other face.
The said bush locator member (4) is glued to the tailgate glass (6) and the said locator pin member is screwed on to the said bush locator member (4). Only a single thread turn is provided in order to minimize the time taken to assemble. Single thread provided on the said locator pin member (1) is fastened to the said bush locator member.
Said bush locator member (4) has the profile of said tailgate glass (6) on one face and groove on the other face.
Profile on the one end of said bush locator member matches with the profile of said tailgate glass (6) which is fixed to the said tailgate glass with the glue. There is small lip (5) which is extended portion, present on one side of the said bush locator member for indication and proper fixing of said bush locator member. The said lip is in horizontal position facing the inner side of the said tailgate glass (6). After the said bush locator member is fixed on to the glass, the assembly as a whole is fixed to the panel with help of said bush locator member.
The locator serves only for locating and not for support of the tailgate glass.
In accordance with this invention, method of mounting tailgate glass locator for vehicles comprises; selecting the locator pin member, selecting the bush locator member, gluing the said bush locator member on the said tailgate glass, screwing the said locator pin member to the said bush locator member.
