A Three Phase Gas Circuit Breaker With Gang Operated Coupling Element

Abstract: The invention relates to a three phase common enclosure type gas insulated circuit breaker (101) is disclosed. The gas circuit breaker comprises: at least three interrupter poles; a fixed contact system (2) and a moving contact system (3); a designated pressure propelled fixed arcing contact system (8); an insulating blast cylinder (17) provided in series with the gaseous gap present inside an insulating inter-electrode space; a hot gas blocking element (18) for avoiding spilling over of hot gas into inter-electrode gap during high current interruption; a novel circular element (19); and a special housing for guiding novel circular plate (19A), characterized in that said coupling element (19) is provided for connecting the movable contact systems of said interrupter poles with a single operating mechanism for enabling gang operation.
