Specification

Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) which eliminates the disadvantages of the
existing Transfer Car.
A further object of the invention is to propose a track changing device for
Monorail Storage Retrieval Machine in multi aisle Automatic storage and Retrieval
System (ASRS) which reduces the time for Storage Retrieval Machine transfer to
another aisle.
Another object of the invention is to propose a track changing device for
Monorail Storage Retrieval Machine in a multi aisle Automatic Storage and
Retrieval System (ASRS) which increases the productivity with very less manual
labour.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:-
The present invention is provided with a track changing device for Monorail
Stacker Retrieval Machine (SRM) for Automatic Storage and Retrieval System
(ASRS) comprising a movable base plate embodied with a segment of straight
rail and a segment of curved rail which are placed at a defined distance apart,
disposed at a junction point of a straight rail and a curved rail on other side and
the base plate is connected with a piston of a hydraulic cylinder and the
hydraulic cylinder is operated through a solenoid switch for both forward and
backward motion through a hydro-power pack system; characterized in that, the
device controls the movement of a Stacker and Retrieval Machine in two
directions viz the straight route or curve route by the movable base plate either
in forward direction or backward direction operated by the piston of the hydraulic
cylinder which is operated by a solenoid switch.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS:-
Fig. 1A shows a schematic line diagram of the device for monorail movement on
a curved path.
Fig. IB shows a schematic line diagram of the device for monorail car movement
. on a straight path.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE
INVENTION:-
The present invention is provided with a movable base plate (1) made of steel
material, The movable base plate is embodied with one small segment of straight
rail (2) and one small segment of curve rail (3). The straight rail (2) and the
curve rail (3) are situated at a defined distance apart along the length of the
base plate (1). The base plate (1) is connected with a piston (4) of a hydraulic
cylinder (5). The hydraulic cylinder (5) is operated through a solenoid switch for
both forward and backward movement through a hydro-power pack system. The
pressure is applied through hydro-power pack system as shown in Fig. 1A and
IB, the device is disposed at a junction point from where the Monorail Stacker
Retrieval Machine can move in two diverge directions viz either straight path (6)
or in curved path (7) when the device is in position as shown in Fig IB, the
Monorail Stacker Retrieval Machine moves on a straight rail. By pushing the base
plate (1) in forward direction the curve segment joins the two lines from where
the Stacker Retrieval Machine moves in curved path as shown in Fig. 1A.
Again, according to requirement the base plate is pulled backward, then the
Monorail Stacker Retrieval Machine can move in a straight path.
WE CLAIM:-
1. A track changing device on a Monorail Track for multi aisle Automatic
Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) comprising :-
- a movable base plate (1) embodied with a segment of straight rail (2)
and a segment of curved rail (3) which are placed at a defined
distance apart, disposed at a junction point of a straight rail and
curved rail on other side;
- the base plate (1) is connected with a piston (4) of a hydraulic cylinder
(5);
- the hydraulic cylinder is operated through a solenoid switch for both
forward and backward motion through a hydro-power pack system;
characterized in that, a control system is provided such that the
movement of a Monorail Stacker takes place in two directions viz the
straight route or curve route by the movable base plate either in forward
direction or backward direction operated by the piston of the hydraulic
cylinder.
2. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the movable base plate is made
of steel materials.
3. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the segment of straight rail and
curve rail embodied on the movable base plate are also made of steel
material.
4. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hydraulic power-pack
system is operated at a designed pressure.

The present invention is provided with a track changing device on a Monorail
Track for multi aisle Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) comprising
a movable base plate (1) embodied with a segment of straight rail (2) and a
segment of curved rail (3) which are placed at a defined distance apart, disposed
at a junction point of a straight rail and curved rail on other side and the base
plate (1) is connected with a piston (4) of a hydraulic cylinder (5) and the
hydraulic cylinder (5) is operated through a solenoid switch for both forward and
backward motion through a hydro-power pack system; characterized in that, a
control system is provided such that the movement of a Monorail Stacker takes
place in two directions viz the straight route or curve route by the movable base
plate either in forward direction or backward direction operated by the piston of
the hydraulic cylinder.
