PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] The present invention relates to two wheeled vehicles and more particularly to two wheeled vehicles having a compartment to accommodate electrical components.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] In existing scooter type electric vehicles, generally a storage box or utility box is placed under a seat of the vehicle. Considering temperature constrains for a battery and other safety factors, the battery and its allied electrical components are placed below the storage or utility box. As and when, any of the electric components or the battery require any maintenance or repair job, the seat, utility box, and side panels are required to be disassembled to access the said electric components. Once the servicing or repair job is completed, the side panels, utility box, and seat are re-assembled. To perform this, a large number of fasteners need to be undone and then redone, which is a time consuming and an exhaustive task.
[003] In another existing maxi-type electric scooters, generally a central tunnel is provided between the headpipe and the rider seat. This central tunnel is utilised for the packing of several components such as battery, as well as various electrical components. The central tunnel is surrounded by the side vehicle body covers and an upper cap is provided for covering a top portion of the central tunnel. The upper cap is fixedly attached to the top portion via fasteners. It has been observed that in case any maintenance or repair job is required for the battery or the electrical components, the upper cap needs to be removed to access the battery or the electrical components which is carried out by removing the fasteners of the top portion. After the repair or maintenance job is completed, these fasteners are required to be tightened so as to attach the upper cap with the top portion of the central tunnel. It has been observed that a lot of time and energy is spent in performing the required maintenance/ repair work due to cumbersome access to the electrical components.
[004] Further, it has also been observed that the upper cap placed over the central tunnel hinders the free pivotal movement of the rider seat while being opened about a seat hinge. The end of the upper cover disposed near the rider seat usually comes into the contact with the rider seat and obstructs the free pivotal movement of the rider seat thereto.
[005] Thus, there is a need in the art for a solution which can address the aforementioned problems.
