Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present subject matter is related, in general to a vehicle, and more particularly, but not exclusively to a USB charger mounted on a handlebar of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] With advancements in technology, many attractive features are added in a vehicle to provide comfort and to enhance user experience of a user of the vehicle. As, many communication devices now have become vital part of day to day life of the user of the vehicle, associating these communication devices with the vehicle attracts the user and becomes a major deciding point to buy such types of vehicles. Associating the communication devices makes the life of user comfortable, easy, and gives the user an enhanced experience.
[0002] Universal Serial Bus (USB) charger is used for the charging electronic devices, such as, but not limited to, mobile phones, tablets and other smart devices supported with the USB charging protocol. Conventionally, USB charger is having either a Type A or a Type C port. Such different type of USB ports enables a wide range of mobiles and tablets for the charging.
[0003] Conventionally the USB charging ports are located under the rider seat on one side in two wheeled vehicles. However, drawback of the above location is that the USB charging port is not conveniently accessible and further special mounting provisions need to be created in the styling panels and the frame of the vehicle, which increases the part count in the vehicle and thereby increases weight, cost and assembly time of the vehicle.
[0004] Another known location of the USB charging ports in the two wheeled vehicles is adjacent to the keyhole of the two wheeled vehicles. However, the drawback of such a location is that the key interferes with the USB charging ports. Additionally, whenever any wire is connected to the USB charging ports to charge a device on the vehicle, the wire may entangle with the handlebar resulting in unnecessary discomfort to the rider/user of the vehicle. Further, again separate mounting provision are required to mount the USB charging ports adjacent to the keyhole resulting in increase the number of part count, weight, cost and assembly time of the vehicle.
[0005] Additionally, in state-of-the-art the USB charger is an integrated unit with the LH switch which makes serviceability and the accessibility of the USB charger difficult. Thus, having an integrated USB charger within the LH switch complicates the usability and accessibility. Also, integrating the LH switches with USB charger makes the entire assembly difficult to replace in case of malfunctioning of either the switches or the USB charger. In addition to this, the USB charger are open type of charger which can malfunction due to water ingress, dust, and any other foreign particles.
[0006] Further, in a scooter type two-wheeled vehicle, a power cord is connected to the power socket in the goods storage, and thus a user cannot easily check whether a power cord is securely connected to the power socket.
[0007] Another major problem with USB charger mounted on above mentioned locations in the two-wheeled vehicles is the direct water entry into the USB charger. Also as explained accessibility of the USD charger at each of the known location is difficult . Further, typically all USB chargers for two-wheeled vehicles include only a single charging port which is not a fast-charging port and many a times the provided USB port for charging is not compatible to most of the electronic devices.
[0008] In another existing art, the USB charger is placed at a rear portion of the vehicle above a fuel tank. This again leads the problem of accessibility as the user of the vehicle may not be able to access the USB charger while the user is riding the vehicle. In yet another design, the USB charger is placed inside a utility box of the vehicle. In this design, the user has to stop the vehicle, get down from the vehicle and then open the utility box in order to access the USB charger.
[0009] In yet another design, the USB charger integrated with one or more switches need to be provided with a heat dissipation shell to cool the USB charger so as to facilitate heat dissipation. This adds weight and cost to the vehicle. Also, space is required to accommodate the heat dissipation shell in the already crowded handlebar of the vehicle.
[00010]
[00011] Further limitations and disadvantages of conventional and traditional approaches will become apparent to one of skill in the art, through comparison of described systems with some aspects of the present disclosure, as set forth in the remainder of the present application and with reference to the drawings.
