TECHNICAL FIELD
[002] The present subject matter described herein, in general, relates to a vehicle, and more particularly a vapour barrier inside vehicle doors / tailgate.
BACKGROUND
[003] Generally, noise inside a vehicle cabin is composed of many elements such as engine noise, wind cutting noise, tyre noise etc. Typically, this noise within the vehicle is also known as Buzz, Squeaks and Rattles (BSR). Now a days customers increasingly perceive BSR noises as direct indicators of vehicle build quality and durability. Further, rattling noises from doors are one of the major concerns of customer irritant noises. Generally, there are many triggers for this rattling noise, such as loose connectors, wiring harness, latch cables etc. Furthermore, under different road condition, BSR noise from door assembly are more irritating to customer as doors are nearer to customer.
[004] In conventional system for reducing noise comprise edge clips and cable holders on door inner panel for holding and separating the cables. Typically, use of convention system becomes very difficult to assembly or routing of cables due to existence of separator clips. In addition, the separator & edge clips are not easy to mount on panel and loose fitment of these create BSR issues.
SUMMARY
[005] Before the present a vapour barrier, are described, it is to be understood that this application is not limited to the particular systems, and methodologies described, as there can be multiple possible embodiments which are not expressly illustrated in the present disclosures. It is also to be understood that the terminology used in the description is for the purpose of describing the particular implementations or versions or embodiments only, and is not intended to limit the scope of the present application. For the purpose of illustrating of the present subject matter, an example of construction of the present subject matter is provided as figures; however, the invention is not limited to the specific system disclosed in the document and the figures.
[008] The present subject matter is described in detail with reference to the accompanying figures. In the figures, the left-most digit(s) of a reference number identifies the figure in which the reference number first appears. The same numbers are used throughout the drawings to refer various features of the present subject matter.
[009] Figure 1 illustrates a front view of a vapour barrier, in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter.
[010] Figure 2 illustrates a rear view of the vapour barrier, in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[011] Some embodiments of this disclosure, illustrating all its features, will now be discussed in detail. The words "comprising," "having," "containing," and "including," and other forms thereof, are intended to be equivalent in meaning and be open ended in that an item or items following any one of these words is not meant to be an exhaustive listing of such item or items, or meant to be limited to only the listed item or items. It must also be noted that as used herein and in the appended claims, the singular forms "a," "an," and "the" include plural references unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Although a vapour barrier, similar or equivalent to those described herein can be used in the practice or testing of embodiments of the present disclosure, the exemplary, vapour barriers are now described. The disclosed embodiments for a vapour barrier are merely examples of the disclosure, which may be embodied in various forms.
[012] Various modifications to the embodiment will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art and the generic principles herein may be applied to other embodiments for a vapour barrier. However, one of ordinary skill in the art will readily recognize that the present disclosure for a vapour barrier is not intended to be limited to the embodiments described, but is to be accorded the widest scope consistent with the principles and features described herein.
[013] As described above, there are multiple limitations in the conventional vapour barrier. In conventional approach, latch cables are parked on door inner panel with docking clamps. Typically, it is very difficult to assemble/dock the cables with docking clips if the cables are routed through inner panel. Conventionally, the latch cables are routed through separator clamp provided on door inner panel for holding and separation of cables from each other. Further, cut-out is provided to vapour barrier for passing the latch cables inside out. Such conventional approach method is not effective as assembly of latch cables inside door becomes complex for access. Furthermore, the conventional approach creates loose fitment of clamp and wear of separator clamp after certain kms of running of vehicle. Due to loose fitment and wear of clamp, the latch cable hits with inner door panel and causing the customer irritating noise. Additionally, during the replacement of inner door handle the vapour barrier gets damaged and it creates the flapping noise. Thus there is a need overcome the limitation of the conventional systems.
[014] Now, referring to Figure 1-2, various elements of the vapour barrier 100 for squeak and rattle prevention is illustrated in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. In one embodiment, the vapour barrier 102 comprises a cable separator 112 mounted on the vapour barrier 102 and a sealing element 206 disposed substantially along a perimeter of the vapour barrier 102. IN one example, the cable separator may be integrally mounted and in other example it may be removably mounted. In one example, the sealing element 206 may be a glue or a sticky tape. Further, the cable separated 112 comprise a plurality of through holes. In one embodiment, the number of through holes is directly proportionate to a number of latch cables 110. In one example, each of the plurality through holes comprise eyelet 204 extending outward from the vapour barrier 102 and integrally mounted on the cable separator 112. Further, the eyelet 204 is collared on each side to enable locking. In an example, the cable separated 112, vapour barrier 102 and the eyelet 204 are made of plastic such as Polypropylene. In one other example, the eyelet 204 is made of rubber.
[015] In the implementation, during assembly, the vapour barrier 102 is fixed on an inner door panel 104 of a vehicle door using the sealing element 206 and latch cables 110 are routed through cable separate 112, thereby preventing squeak and rattle.
[016] Exemplary embodiments discussed above may provide certain advantages in additions to the ones described above. Though not required to practice aspects of the disclosure, these advantages may include the following.
[017] Some embodiments of the vapour barrier eliminate the docking clips.
[018] Some embodiments of the vapour barrier eliminate the customer irritant noise from latch cables.
