Specification

Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The present subject matter relates to a vehicle, more particularly, a storage unit of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[002] In general, conventional vehicles are powered by a power unit such as an internal combustion engine or an electric motor or both. General two wheeled vehicles also includes a storage unit for storing one or more helmets. However, packaging of a power unit and one or more helmets in the storage unit is difficult and often a trade off between the two occurs in a vehicle.
[003] The conventional vehicles therefore has a provision of a first compartment and a second compartment in a storage unit to store one or more helmets and also to store small articles such as document, a book, phone, phone charger and a small bottle etc.
[004] In certain conventional vehicles, one or more small compartments are provided for storing the one or more small articles. However, during the running condition of the vehicle, the one or more small articles doesn’t stay in one place and often jumps into the other compartments of the storage unit. This leads to jumbling of articles in the storage unit and in turn increases user confusion and frustration.
[005] Furthermore, the valuable small articles such as mobile phone is prone to theft, if a person absent mindedly forgets to properly close the storage unit by locking a seat assembly on a seat latch of the vehicle. Thereby there are no antitheft mechanism to prevent theft of the valuable articles kept in the storage unit of the vehicle.
[006] In another known art, the small compartments can be accessed through one or more gaps provided on a side trim of the vehicle and also can be accessed from a bottom portion of the vehicle. In such scenario, the valuable articles such as mobile phone can be stolen by a thief from the one or more gaps.
[007] Thus, the conventional configuration of the storage unit to store and safely keep the valuable articles in the vehicle is absent and hence an improved design of the small compartments of the storage unit is required to safely keep the articles and also prevent jumbling and mixing up of the articles in the storage unit of the vehicle.
SUMMARY
[008] The present subject matter provides a vehicle comprising a storage unit below a seat assembly of the vehicle. The storage unit including one or more depressions for receiving small articles and a phone charging unit. The one or more depressions are covered with a seamless lid for preventing theft of valuables such as a phone, kept inside the one or more depressions of the storage unit.
[009] As per an aspect of the present invention, a two wheeled vehicle comprising a seat assembly and a storage unit disposed below the seat assembly. The storage unit includes one or more depressions for storing one or more small articles in the storage unit. The one or more depressions are provided with a lid for covering the one or more depressions for prevention of theft of the one or more small articles from the storage unit.
[010] As per an embodiment, the lid being a trapezoidal shape. The lid us provided with a snap fit mechanism to cover the one or more depressions of the storage unit.
[011] As per another embodiment, the lid is provided with a cut out at one or more edges for a wire to pass through it. The lid is provided with a locking mechanism.
[012] As per another embodiment, the locking mechanism is a lock and key. The locking mechanism can also be a digital lock being accessed by an external communication device through a password.
[013] As per another embodiment, the lid is configured to have a planar configuration with a flat surface for providing a plane surface for keeping the one or more small articles.
[014] As per another embodiment, a plurality of lids is configured to cover the one or more depressions. Also, a single lid can be configured to cover the one or more depressions.
[015] It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description are exemplary and explanatory only and are not restrictive of the invention, as claimed.
