Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION:
[001] The present subject matter described herein, relates to a vehicular opener assembly and more particularly, relates to an assembly for opening a backdoor and fuel lid of a vehicle by a remote operation.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART:
[002] As per regulation ECE R 11, a Back door equipped with an interior latch release control, shall be equipped with at least one locking / unlocking device located within the interior of the vehicle which when engaged, prevents operation of the interior back door handle. Such a locking device is not available in any vehicle. Current systems include a latch release lever which when pulled up by a force, rotates about hinge point and pulls the cable with force to release the back door latch. However, during a vehicle running condition, an accidental actuation of the latch release lever by a driving person or any other occupant is undesirable.
[003] Japanese Patent publication JP2001115694A provides –
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bending moment from directly acting on a key cylinder in the rotation of an opener lever laid into the lever-locked state. SOLUTION: The locking piece 28 of a key cylinder lever 24 is located on a stopper 36 (the lever-locked state of an opener lever 10). Therefore, when the opener lever 10 is rotated, a contact piece 46 abuts on the locking piece 20 28. The rotation of the opener lever 10 is restrained in this position, so that a lock mechanism for opening an engine hood cannot be laid in an unlock state. At this time, although the load from the contact piece 46 is applied to the locking piece 28, the load applied to the locking piece 28 is received by the stopper 36 since the locking piece 28 is placed on the top surface of the stopper 36. Accordingly, the 25 bending moment with a key cylinder rod 18 as the fulcrum never acts on the locking piece 28.
[004] However, the assembly, shape, operation and location of the parts mentioned in the prior art are not similar to the present disclosure.
3
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
[005] The principal objective of the present invention is to provide vehicular opener assembly, provided with a locking / unlocking feature, for opening a backdoor and fuel lid of a vehicle by a remote operation.
[006] Another object of the present subject matter is to provide a simple, cost 5 effective, and efficiently designed vehicular opener assembly that is distinct from all conventional designs.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[007] The present invention relates to a vehicular opener assembly configured to be secured to a vehicle body. The vehicular opener assembly includes a base plate 10 configured to be secured to the vehicle body, the base plate having an L-shaped profile defined by a first face and a second face, the first face having a first arcuate recess and a second tab; and a plurality of levers pivotally coupled with the base plate, the plurality of levers having a fuel lid opening lever, a backdoor opening lever, and a locking lever, the fuel lid opening lever and the backdoor 15 opening lever being pivotally coupled with the first face of the base plate at a common first pivot point, and the locking lever being pivotally coupled on the first face of the base plate at a second pivot point, wherein the backdoor opening lever includes a first tab configured to be received and arcuately move in the first arcuate recess, and the locking lever defines a second arcuate recess for receiving 20 and arcuate movement of the second tab and a first stop proximal to the first arcuate recess, the locking lever being configured to be positioned in a locked state to restrict a movement of the backdoor opening lever and an open state to allow a movement of the backdoor opening lever.

[0017] Figs. 1a-1b illustrate perspective views of a vehicular opener assembly 5 (100) configured to be secured to a vehicle body in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. In an embodiment, the vehicular opener assembly (100) includes a base plate (102) configured to be secured to the vehicle body. The base plate (102) may be secured to the vehicle body through state of the art joining techniques like welding, bolting, riveting, etc. 10
[0018] In an embodiment, the base plate (102) includes an L-shaped profile defined by a first face (104) and a second face (106). Further, the first face (104) is provided with a first arcuate recess (105) and a second tab (109b). In an embodiment, the vehicular opener assembly (100) further includes a plurality of levers (108) pivotally coupled with the base plate (102). The plurality of levers 15 (108) includes a fuel lid opening lever (108a), a backdoor opening lever (108b), and a locking lever (108c). In an example, the fuel lid opening lever (108a) is configured with a fuel lid of the vehicle, the backdoor opening lever (108b) is configured with a backdoor of the vehicle, and the locking lever (108c) is configured with the backdoor opening lever (108b). 20
[0019] As shown, the fuel lid opening lever (108a) and the backdoor opening lever (108b) are pivotally coupled with the first face (104) of the base plate (102) at a common first pivot point (110). Further, the locking lever (108c) is pivotally coupled on the first face (104) of the base plate (102) at a second pivot point (112). In an example, the first pivot point (110) and the second pivot point are 25 substantially distant from each other. In an embodiment, the locking 5 lever (108c) is being configured to be positioned in the locked state (LS) to restrict a movement of the backdoor opening lever (108b) and the open state (OS) to allow a movement of the backdoor opening lever (108b).
[0021] As shown in Fig. 2a, in the locked state (LS) of the locking lever (108c), a movement of the first tab (109a) is restricted by the first stop (114), and a 10 movement of locking lever (108c) is restricted about the second arcuate recess (116) due to the second tab (109b). Thereby, restricting a movement of the backdoor opening lever (108b) and disallowing a vehicular occupant to accidentally operating the backdoor opening lever (108b) in a vehicular rest or running condition. 15
[0022] Further, as shown in Fig. 2b, a vehicular occupant first has to pull the locking lever (108c) to achieve the open state (OS), and in the open state (OS) of the locking lever (108c), the first stop (114) is rotatably displaced relative to the first tab (109a) to allow a movement of the first tab (109a) in the first arcuate recess (105), and movement of the second arcuate recess (116) around the second 20 tab (109b). Thereby allowing a movement of the backdoor opening lever (108b) and allowing a vehicular occupant to operate the backdoor opening lever (108b).
[0023] Fig. 3 illustrates a schematic of the vehicular opener assembly (100), wherein the locking lever (108c) is in the open state (OS), and the backdoor opening lever (108b) is free to operated under a pulling force. 25
[0024] Although embodiments for the present subject matter have been described in language specific to structural features, it is to be understood that the present subject matter is not necessarily limited to the specific features described. Rather, the specific features and methods are disclosed as embodiments for the present
