Specification

[001] The present disclosure, in general, relates to a wall mounting luminaire and more
particularly, to a wall mounting luminaire with multiple mounting adjustments to
facilitate multiple orientation. The wall mounting luminaire can be easily converted into
wall light, task light, ambient light, corner lamp, etc. as per the usage application.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] Today LED lighting technology is rapidly replacing traditional incandescent and
fluorescent lights. Even in the tube lighting applications, instead of being filled with inert
gas and mercury as found in fluorescent tube lights, the LED tube lights are mercury-free.
Thus, it is no surprise that LED tube lights are becoming highly desired illumination
option among different available lighting systems used in homes and workplace, which
used to be dominated by traditional lighting options such as compact
fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and fluorescent tube lights. Benefits of the
LED tube lights include improved durability and longevity, and far less energy
consumption, therefore, when taking into account all factors, LED lights would be
considered as cost effective lighting option.
[003] There are several types of LED luminaires available in the market for various uses,
such as, wall light, task light, ambient light, corner lamp etc. However, each of the
available luminaires has rigid structural features which are not adaptable for more than
one type of use.
[004] The wall light is currently prominently used in houses and offices to illuminate
the entire room. Often it is required to illuminate a particular part of the room or to dim a
particular part of the room. The wall lights which are prominently used in our houses and
offices are not capable of this functions. Further, wall lights cannot be adapted to be used
3
in corners of a room due to its rigid structure. Furthermore, the wall lights usually provide
a certain glare which makes people present in the room uncomfortable while looking at it
directly.
[005] For applications such as reading, the user needs a luminaire which is more focused
on the reading material, such as book. For this purpose, reading lamps are used. The
reading lamps occupies unnecessary space on the reading desk. Further, reading lamps
cannot be used for other purposes.
[006] Task lightning is a new trend in the luminaire market, wherein increased
illumination is provided to better accomplish a specific task. Interior designers often use
task lightning to create visual effects in a room. One of the most popular dramatic effect
includes illuminating a vertical surface such as a wall with light. If a wall-lightning
luminaire is mounted in a ceiling, it falls into a class of lighting luminaire known as down
lights. If a wall-lightning luminaire is positioned near the floor, it is called an up-lights.
No luminaire is currently available in the market which can be used as both up-lights and
down lights, simultaneously.
[007] Therefore, there is a need to develop a wall mounting luminaire which can
individually perform functions of a wall light, a task light, an ambient light or a corner
lamp and also obviate other drawbacks mentioned above.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[008] It is therefore an object of the present invention, to solve the aforementioned and
other drawbacks existing in the conventional luminaires.
[009] Another primary object of the present invention is to provide a wall mounting
luminaire with multiple mounting adjustments to facilitate multiple orientation.
4
[0010] Yet another objective of the present invention is to provide a wall mounting
luminaire which can individually perform either of the functions of a wall light, a task
light, an ambient light or a corner lamp.
[0011] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a wall mounting luminaire
which can transform into either one of a wall light, a task light, an ambient light or a
corner lamp just by twisting the modules.
[0012] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a wall mounting luminaire
with indirect light source to eliminate glare.
[0013] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a wall mounting
luminaire which does not occupy unnecessary space.
[0014] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a wall mounting luminaire
which is compact in design.
[0015] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a wall mounting luminaire
having tunable white light with dimming option.
