CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS AND PRIORITY
[001] The present invention claims priority from Indian patent application numbered IN 202241058441 filed on 12th October, 2022.
FIELD OF INVENTION
[002] The present subject matter described herein, in general, relates to windshield structure of cabin assembly of motor grader and more specifically relates to unique front frame cross section of operator's station for improved visibility and overall aesthetics.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[003] At present the operator's station is an enclosed space for the driver / operator designed to ensure operator safety with minimized sound levels and maximum operator comfort with improved visibility during the operation of the Grader equipment. Presently available cabins were designed with regular profile for the front frame giving it a flat design. In the existing design a separate rectangular plate should be welded to the frame to assemble the windshield glass and the rubber beading. Since the plate length is more and thickness is less while welding there are chances of welding distortion or deformation. This tends to result in creating uneven surfaces and the glass assembly becomes tedious.
[004] Thus, as an alternative solution, plate is formed and embedded as an integral part of the cross section which makes the manufacturing & assembly easier.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[005] Main object of the present invention is to provide unique profile on the front windshield structure of the cabin assembly to provide improved aesthetics design & for easy manufacturability.
[006] Another object of the present invention is to provide unique front frame cross section of the operator's station for improved visibility and overall aesthetics.
[007] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide improved aesthetics design & for easy manufacturability of front windshield of motor grader.

[0020] Motor Grader is one of the wheeled equipment used for various construction and mining operations. With a powerful engine and transmission, it is used for shaping the soil bed, building embankments, grading slopes, trough shaped channels, trenches for roads, clearing snow on highways, etc. It is also used for moving earth and road building materials. The high powered BEML Motor Grader is mostly used for heavy duty road construction / maintenance jobs at mining yards and haul roads maintenance at Mines which will ease the movement of mining equipment like Dump trucks, Cranes, etc.
[0021] Referring to figure 2, the present subject matter is a unique profile used for front windshield structure (2) of the cabin assembly to provide improved aesthetics design & for easy manufacturability. The invention is for the unique front frame cross section of the operator's station for improved visibility and overall aesthetics. The profile with the front frame cross section is nomenclature as "A Pillar ". This profile is designed with a groove to accommodate the windshield glass (3) and rubber beading (4) on the other side. The new "A Pillar" with a cross section / specific profile is unique and improves the visibility of the work attachment without compromising on the structural strength of the cabin structure. This unique profile of the cabin frame gives maximized visibility & better aesthetic appeal. A plate with groove is embedded as an integral part of the cross section which makes the manufacturing & assembly easier.
[0022] The new profile provides a prismoidal shaped design in the front frame of the motor grader cabin which improves the driver / operator ability to look at the work attachment better. Fig 5 illustrates the cross section view of the ‘A’ pillar. The ‘A’ pillar comprises of a groove of a predefined profile for mounting the rubber beading and windshield glass. The ‘A’ pillar comprises of an outer plate (12), a back plate (13) and a stiffener plate (14). The outer plate (12) comprises a central hump to constitute the outer surface of the ‘A’ pillar. The outer plate (12) is configured with a concavity between the hump and a flanged end with a radial bend to form an acute angle for mounting and clenching the rubber beading (4) along with windshield glass (3). The flanged ends of the outer plate (12) are configured to be fastened to the ends of the back plate (13) to form a ‘A’ pillar. The stiffener plate (14) is configured to be mounted on the inner side of the outer plate (14) at the proximity of the hump ends to connect both ends of the hump to strengthen to the ‘A’ pillar. The ‘A’ pillar is configured with a groove of a predefined profile for mounting and clenching the rubber beading (4) and the windshields (3). The operator cabin comprises of various windshields (3) of predefined shape mounted on “A pillar” at predefined angles to each other. The windshield (8) at the top in the front is mounted at a predefined angle to provide better visibility to the operator and a slope is provided to the windshield to drain the water down from the windshield. The windshield (9) at the bottom in the front is mounted at a predefined angle to provide better visibility of the work place to the operator and a slope is provided to the windshield to avoid the settling of dust on the windshield. The windshields (10, 11) on the sides are mounted at a predefined angle to provide better visibility of the work place on the sides of the cabin. With the new profile the cabin assembly has got improved air tightness & sound insulation with better aesthetic appeal. In the present invention windshield and rubber beading mounting locations come along with the main profile. It reduces the cost of welding an additional plate and makes the assembly process simpler compared to the regular one.
[0023] Exemplary embodiments discussed above may provide certain advantages. Though not required to practice aspects of the disclosure, these advantages may include those provided by the following features.
[0024] Figures 1-5 are now described using the reference numbers stated in the below table.
