A Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing Method

Abstract: Present disclosure discloses wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) method. The method includes forming an intermediate structure (2) on a work platform (1) by a first production process. The first production process includes depositing a metal wire layer on the work platform (1) to form the intermediate structure (2). Further, the method includes forming an object (3) on the intermediate structure (2) by a second production process such that, dimension of the intermediate structure (2) on the work platform (1) is greater than the dimension of the object (3) formed on the intermediate structure (2). The intermediate structure (2) between the work platform (1) and the object (3) is configured to reduce distortion of the work platform (1) and the object (3). Additionally, the method is adapted to reduce misalignments between a working plane and a tool path plane, prior to deposition of the one or more metal wire layers.
