Abstract: The present invention has the objective of providing an ablation catheter with balloon which achieves together a decrease in diameter of the balloon at balloon contraction time and increase in reliability of a thermocouple temperature sensor and simultaneously is resistant to being affected by a heating liquid delivered to within the balloon and is capable of controlling balloon surface temperature with high precision. The present invention is an ablation catheter with balloon which is provided with a shaft having a lumen a balloon such that the lumen is in communication with the interior of the balloon and a high frequency current delivering electrode which is formed by winding a high frequency power supply lead wire into a coil around the shaft while sandwiching a temperature sensor lead wire between the high frequency power supply lead wire and the shaft so that the temperature sensor lead wire is fixed along the long axis direction of the shaft. A thermocouple temperature sensor is formed at a point where the high frequency power supply lead wire and the temperature sensor lead wire which configure the high frequency current delivering electrode first come into tactile contact as viewed from the rear end side in the long axis direction.
WE CLAIM:
1. A balloon ablation catheter (1) comprising:
a shaft (5, 6) in which a lumen penetrates in the longitudinal direction;
a balloon (2) fixed to said shaft, wherein said lumen communicates with the inside of the balloon; and
a high-frequency-current-applying electrode (3) arranged inside said balloon (2), which electrode is formed by coiling a high-frequency-power-supplying lead wire (8) that supplies high-frequency power from power supply devices (7) around said shaft,
a temperature sensor lead wire (9) that supplies a measured signal to the power supply devices is sandwiched between the high-frequency-power- supplying lead wire (8) being coiled and the shaft, and is fixed along the longitudinal direction of the shaft;
wherein a thermocouple thermosensor (4a) is formed at the point where said high-frequency-power-supplying lead wire (8) and said temperature sensor lead wire (9) constituting said high-frequency-current-applying electrode (3) contact with each other for the first time as seen from the posterior end side in the longitudinal direction, and
said temperature sensor lead wire (9) is in contact at a plurality of points with said high-frequency-power-supplying lead wire (8).
2. The balloon ablation catheter according to claim 1, comprising an oscillator that gives oscillation to a heating liquid in said balloon by repeating suction and discharge of the heating liquid from said lumen.
3. The balloon ablation catheter according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said thermocouple temperature sensor (4a) is formed at the posterior end portion of said high-frequency-current-applying electrode (3).
4. The balloon ablation catheter according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein said temperature sensor lead wire (9) reaches the anterior end portion of said high-frequency-current-applying electrode (3).

5. The balloon ablation catheter according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein said
temperature sensor lead wire (9) and said high-frequency-power-supplying lead wire (8) are formed of the different type of metal.
