Abstract: ABSTRACT The present subject matter relates to a curve type accelerator pedal module for automobile comprising a curve pedal platform, a pedal lever, a pedal housing and a restoring spring element. The curve pedal platform has pedal head extended outwardly and the curve pedal platform characterized by unique distance between a heel point to a pressure point and a pressure point to a hinge point to makes easy to operate the curve type accelerator pedal. The unique distance between heel-point to the pressure point is about 200 mm and the unique distance between the pressure point to the hinge point is about 250 mm. The curve type accelerator pedal module is having vertical mounting on the platform of a vehicle for easiness to operate the automobile. Further the curve type accelerator pedal module for automobile comprising best foot angle for driving condition is 100 Degree to 110 Degree with the height of 110 mm to 135 mm from floor.

DESC:[001] The present disclosure generally relates to an accelerator paddle. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to an accelerator paddle for automobile and method of manufacturing thereof.
[002] Automobile industries are focusing on developing the light weight and integrated type components for the automobiles, more particularly to the heavy motor vehicle. In heavy motor vehicle, the weight of vehicle pertaining to weight of the component is an important concern for heavy vehicle manufacturers. Large and heavy vehicle manufacturers produce millions of automotive components for commercial vehicles and to develop a light weight, compact universal automobile components or parts for heavy motor vehicle is a major focus area. Therefore automobile industries are investing substantial fund in R & D activities to develop low cost, light weight and durable components or parts for heavy motor vehicles without compromising on the efficiencies of the heavy motor vehicle.
[003] Heavy commercial motor vehicle has its own architecture limitation(s), such as space between driver’s seat and steering column, leg room space between cabin front wall and driver’s seat, gap between brake paddle and accelerator paddle, and different height of accelerator paddle from cabin floor to meet the ergonomics requirement. Most of heavy motor vehicles may have different accelerator paddle to gives different driving experience to driver. The accelerator paddle are required as per the vehicles body structures i.e. (LDVs, MDVs and HDVs) and also as per the different requirement with respect to the customer ease of operation and driving operation. Such as low duty vehicles (LDVs) has different requirement of accelerator paddle design as compared to the medium duty vehicle (MDVs) and high duty vehicle (HDVs).
[004] The existing accelerator paddles have different configuration and mechanism along with different operating condition. Most common type of accelerator paddle(s) used in automobile industry are floor mounted type accelerator paddle and vertical hinged type accelerator paddle.
[005] Floor mounted accelerator paddle is operating from front and rotating on the hinge located towards driver side. In floor mounted single hinged type accelerator paddle, the driver feet placed on the floor and when driver push the paddle, driver’s feet and peddle follow the same trajectory. In floor mounted single hinged type of accelerator paddle, due to driver’s feet are placed on the floor, the heel position of the feet is stabilized all the time. But in this configuration height adjustment facility is not available.
[006] Another deficiency in the floor mounted single hinged type accelerator paddle is that driver experiences the heaviness of the system, which result in bad modulation of the vehicles, while driving and sometimes also results in jerking. The sitting method/posture and proper alignment of the driver play an important role, while driving with the floor mounted single hinged type accelerator paddle vehicles, it occupied more space as compared to the vertical type accelerator paddle.
[007] Another type of accelerator paddle is vertical mounting accelerator paddle or suspended type accelerator paddle.
[008] The vertical hinged type accelerator paddle rotates on hinge axis toward driver side. The paddle has slot in front, which is connected with another lever for giving accelerator movement to the vehicle. Further due to mounting on floor, the vertical mounting on bracket has certain operating limitation and difficult in packaging. Therefore due to these limitations, different pressure point and different operating condition experienced by the driver, which lead towards great level of discomfort to driver.
[009] Therefore there is an unmet need to develop an accelerator paddle for all segment of commercial vehicles and method of manufacturing thereof. The accelerator paddle may suitable to all type of vehicles with best ergonomically condition, while driving a light duty vehicles, a medium duty vehicles and heavy duty vehicles.
[0010] The present invention relates to an accelerator paddle for all segments/types of commercial vehicle and method of manufacturing thereof. The present invention discloses the accelerator paddle, which control the movement of the vehicle.
[0011] The accelerator paddle discloses in the present invention also provides an easiness to the driver to easily opt out the feet from the accelerator paddle, while the feet of the driver is still on the floor of the vehicles, which provides more light and easy to modulate situation.
[0012] Another object of the present invention provides a universal profile based accelerator paddle, which analyze the best pressure point to the driver.
[0013] Another object of the present invention provide hinged point towards front of the vehicles dashboard in vertical hinged type accelerator paddle.
[0014] The another object of the present Invention provides an accelerator paddle, in particularly, the hinge point taken away from the heel point to make easier and comfortable operation of accelerator paddle.
[0015] Another object of the present invention provides the accelerator paddle mounted in the vehicles through the metal bracket occupying minimal space without affecting the surrounding parts such as assembly, dashboard, cabin floor and the front panel of the cabin space and place. It is also integrated in all vehicle range to provide better driving comfort.
[0016] Another aspect of the present invention is directed towards providing the gap between support surfaces of paddle housing is between about 100-130 mm from the heel point and the hinged point of the floor mounted paddle.
[0017] Another aspect of the present invention is to build the relation between the hinge point and pressure point, which directly impact the driver operating effort during vehicle running. If the distance between hinge point and pressure point is reasonable, there is the good comfort in operation. Less distance between hinge point and pressure point will impact more stress on operating effort and make driver discomfort level more prominent.
[0018] Another object of the present invention directed towards mapping the pressure point of all the customers with respect to their driving experience.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECT MATTER
[0019] The present subject matter relates to an accelerator paddle. The accelerator paddle is having a curve profile inline to the curve profile of feet of the driver. The suitable curve profile of accelerator paddle is about 100 degree to 120 degree, which is in line with the best foot angle for driving condition is 100 degree to 110 degree with the height of 110mm-135 mm from floor. The slight change in angle give an angular shape to accelerator paddle to provide better operating feeling to driver. The accelerator paddle of present subject matter provide comfortable to driver, while driving any commercial vehicles.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS
[0027] The present invention belong to the field of an accelerator paddle for all type of commercial vehicles, in particularly it relates to an accelerator paddle for all segment of commercial vehicles and method of manufacturing thereof to get best ergo experience to the driver. Here commercial vehicles means light duty vehicle, medium duty vehicle and heavy duty vehicle
[0028] Referring to FIG. 1 illustrated curve type accelerator pedal design. The heal point of the driver is placed on the floor of the vehicle and when the paddle is pressed from the upper portion of the feet based on physical benchmarking. Driver feedback and looking at driver’s habit to operate accelerator paddle at different vehicle running condition found that the best foot angle for driving condition is about 100 degree to 110 degree with the height of about 110mm-135 mm from floor of the vehicle platform. This gives best driving experience to driver. The slight change in angle gives different operating feeling to driver. The accelerator paddle of present subject matter provide standard and operating feeling and comfort to driver, while driving any commercial vehicles.

[0029] Here the pressure point is identified based on the driver’s knee posture based on pressure point and common guided curve was created with over all driving posture. With the help of the common guided curve, the paddle has been packaged such that it will meet the entire requirement for driving comfort.
[0030] Referring to the FIG. 2 illustrated the common accelerator paddle profile curve for all type of commercial vehicles. The distance between the heel points to the pressure point of the accelerator paddle is nearly between 0.00- 200.00 mm. This type of vertical hinged accelerator paddle has hinge point towards front of the vehicles. The paddle can be mounted in vehicle through metal bracket as per available space without affecting surrounding parts. Pressure point were identified based on driver knee posture, recommended height and knee angle.
[0031] Referring to the FIG. 3 illustrated a common accelerator paddle with vertical type single hinged accelerator paddle. The new design vertical mounting accelerator paddle can be used for all types of vehicle at desired location with respect to heel pad at best ERGO location.
,CLAIMS:We claim:

1) A curve type accelerator pedal module for automobile comprising:
a) a curve pedal platform
b) a pedal lever
c) a pedal housing and
d) a restoring spring element; wherein curve pedal platform has pedal head extended outwardly, wherein curve pedal platform characterized by unique distance between a heel point to a pressure point and a pressure point to a hinge point to makes easy to operate the curve type accelerator pedal.
2) A The curve type accelerator pedal module for automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein curve type accelerator pedal module is having vertical mounting on the vehicle for easiness to operate the automobile.
3) The curve type accelerator pedal module for automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein best foot angle for driving condition is 100 Degree to 110 Degree with the height of 110 mm to 135 mm from floor.
4) The curve type accelerator pedal module for automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein the unique distance between heel-point to the pressure point is about 200 mm.
5) The curve type accelerator pedal module for automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein the unique distance between the pressure point to the hinge point is about 250 mm.
6) The curve type accelerator pedal module for automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein curve type accelerator pedal is specifically suitable for light duty vehicle, medium duty vehicle and heavy duty vehicle.
